display problems on macbook

Post by tiggy! »

running csb for osx on my macbook with intel and when i open the file to play the game displays in a three inch tall pixellated bar at the top of my screen, the rest of which is just black. it looks like its the regular opening title page or whatever, but it displays badly.

i know macbooks have wider screens, and can cause display problems with some games, but i think earlier this year i had this working before i deleted it for some reason.

ive tried switching my display settings around endlessly to no avail.

can anyone help?

I cannot help at all. I am totally unfamiliar
with MAC hardware/Operating system.

But I think that before anyone can help
we will need to know more precisely the
harware, the operating system, and
particularly, the precise version and
version number of the program (CSBwin)
that you are running and what environmet
you are running it in (windows emulation???
Native MAC???? other???)

Wow. As I understand it then....You have
an Intel chip trying to pretend that it is a
Motorola chip. Amazing that it works well
enough to produce any visible effects.

Is it possible for your MAC to pretend that
it is a Windows machine? Perhaps that
prevarication would be more successful.
And you could run the more recent versions
of CSBwin.

Maybe Thomas Zahradnicky is lurking about
occasionally and will put in his two cents worth.
As I said....I am helpless.

hey paul, I GOT CSBWIN TO WORK!!!!

i took your advice and emulated windows, tinkered with the file and it works...now i have a new problem.

how do i use it to play the original dungeon master?

i have the original map and stuff it CAME with it so i know its possible i just dont know how...

any ideas?
I thought it best to keep the thread intact
here.....

Answer, I think. If CSBwin works then simply
go get a CSBwin/Dungeon Master package
from:

http://www.dianneandpaul.net/CSBwin/Gam ... _PC_DM.zip

Put it all into a single folder and Play!
If you like, you can replace the CSBwin.exe
file with a more recent one. But the one
that comes with the package should work
pretty well.
