Conflux 2 and flask. ***MAJOR SPOILER CENSORED***

Dead posts cluttering up the front page of certain non-RTC forums are kept here. Threads have the forum subject attached, except custom dungeon threads (which are obvious)

The only reason the spell was censored was that one of the cool things about Conflux is having to relearn spells - it's an element of the game, and to have it appear while it is still new, and without any warning, was a bit much

Those spells are not really well-hidden. I spent the first 20 minutes
trying all the possible combinations of one to three symbols and
pretty much learned what the spells were....at least the ones I
needed.

We really must get this DSA-controlled spell casting off the ground
so that the designer can require the player to earn the spells he
needs. I have started it but it will be several weeks before you can
implement a spell-filter DSA.

Lol, it's even less well hidden than that - you can spot it within the first twenty minutes of normal play once you know your way around the dungeon : )

I found out about Conflux after it was at #3.
Is the 'find a scroll to gain the ability to cast a spell' something that came with Conflux 3?

Yes. In version III, you have to find the scroll to unlock the spell, even if you already know which runes to use. In Conflux II, you could still just randomly try out every combination until you found the right one.

I still found some consolation in the fact that when you figured out a spell,
even though you couldn't use it until later, it said something like 'spell fizzles'
so at least you knew you had something for which to look forward.

Exactly MasterWuuf. Which is why I stole that idea for my own dungeon.

Hello Trantor. Let me state, with a proper tilting 'downward in sorrow' of my head,
that I am entirely STUNNED to see a person of your caliber would stoop to stealing such a thing.

Tsk. Tsk. What is this world coming to?

Well, at least I was honestly pleased to see your name.
Hope the new year holds a lot of happiness for you.

In keeping with the whole Conflux 2 and FLASK idea of the thread. :?
