Block copy & paste

Post by R.K. »

Could copy & paste be extended to blocks of tiles and their contents? It'd be nice if chunks of dungeon could be rearranged, duplicated (example: Chambers of the Guardian), or moved to different levels. Flipping and rotating could be useful too (example: moving E/W oriented objects to N/S corridors). How much effort would be needed to add those features?

Also, would it be possible to copy individual objects from a stack on one tile to another tile?

Sometimes, you only want to copy the fourth trigger to lots of other tiles and it's incredibly time consuimg to have to copy an entire stack, then go through and delete all the new copies of stuff you don't want.

I copy it onto the tile that first becomes empty when there are a lot of places where the paste should be done.
Next, an unnecessary object is deleted.
It is cut and paste is done.
Please forgive poor English.

That method only works if you clearly think in advance and KNOW that you might need to change something.

If you're experimenting and working quickly building up lots of tiles with large stacks of objects, and then realise you need to copy ONE item from a stack, it's not really a solution.

Qft. I have the exact same problem and have spent a lot of time correcting stuff in a complicated way, so I'd very much like to see the feature Gambit is requesting.
