DMJ editor documentaton for Addon-Pack(s)V0.1 - 0.3

Post by Kelly »

Due to the extensive modifications done so far, I thought it best to keep the DMJ user up to date with the workings of the DMJ editor.
Basically everything works as it did before, but with a few new updates to the actual wizards.
This documentation is here for those already familair with DMJ, and has a working knowledge of how the wizards are correctly used within the editor.
Most of the editor's layout was originally designed by Solito - I've just added to it.

Firstly, the choosing of Pic Directories and backgrounds has been changed. They now operate within the "Maps" folder and accessed via it's own menu system.

These two screenshots show the target locations of where the files are accessed:-

This also means that additional folders for wallsets must be inside the original "Maps" folder as well.

Secondly, the Door Wizard. These screenshots show the changes made and the image of the door chosen. The red question marks indicate custom doors, that the DMJ user can modify with broken graphics as well:-

Thirdly, the Floor Decoration. This has now been modified to accept both floor and ceiling deco. Both Germanny's and Cowsmanut's graphics are now available as graphical alternatives, with a few extras:-

Next, is the Wall Decoration Wizard. Basically the same, just more added to the list:-

The Wall Switch mechanisms have had a new look, for both single and multiple switches:-

The Pillar Wizard now has it's own thumbnails, allowing the user to see the images selected. There is also a browse function added to access the Maps folder directly:-

The Load Champions Wizard is a new feature originally implemented by Solito. The function is similar to CSB where you can load in your saved Champions. This is accessed from a the new "mirror" image in the editor:-

For addtional documentation for Solito's code modifications, please view his original doc file. This can also be accessed through the readme file available in Addon-Pack V0.2

When you choose the Pic Directories, you still maintain 'relative root' architecture right? You've probably already thought of this, but I'm probably the only one here to have 'D:\Archivos de Programa\dmj"

It's nice to see the doors in the Door wizard, good idea.
The floor / ceiling deco is a good 'un too. You cant get enough deco in the dungeons, can you?

Love the pillar wizard!

It doesn't matter how many sub directories you have to access DMJ.
The installers take account of this and the game recognizes multiple folders as well.
Just be sure that all the relevant files are in the "Maps" folder within DMJ - that's all that matters here.

You can even access files that aren't in the Maps folder using the new Browse feature in the editor.
