Download MAME from http://www.mamedev.org/release.html Pick: MAME 0.150 Windows command-line binaries.

Download games from Emuparadise http://www.emuparadise.me/
They call these games ROMs
You need M.A.M.E. Roms from http://www.emuparadise.me/M.A.M.E._-_Mu ... tor_ROMs/7
Download ROMs. They come in zip files, do not un zip.

Install MAME, put the ROMs in the roms directory of MAME, run MAME.

This is the easiest way to start, it is ok with few games. There are curently about 30 000 games available.

Yup, I played lots of Mame a few years ago. And in my youth I played most of the original arcade games. You might call it mis-spent. But those were fun times that allowed me escapism from the shitty times at home. I guess that's why I have fond memories of those low-res games.

I've used MAME for the last couple of years, I've loved the chance to play some of my old arcade favorites.

Thanks a lot, guys.
This helps me to figure what's worth in the truck load of games I downloaded.
The full rom set MAME_0.149_ROMs is a 42.6 GB zip file containing 28 499 games. ( A 11 hours download ! ).

Last news.
For the vintage arcade of my son, we upgradeed to a newer PC, last Mame and roms with Mala as a front end.
The only difficulty was the sreen. A TV asking for a video composite from the PC, an old stuff not so easy to find from a not so old graphic board.
More fun work is ongoing with the "Mala" front end. The"Hyperspin" front end, might be better, who knows, we are too dumb to understand and use it.

That looks cool, there was a site that you could play NES and SNEs games, but it's been taken down unfortunately :/
