INN OF LOST SOULS: general chit-chat thread

Post by beowuuf »

Welcome to the Inn. A place we all get together of an evening and banter and meander in thought and so on and so forth.
Grab a mug of something, take a seat if your tail doesn't get in the way and if you can get up that high, and settle down

*After making sure there are no louds in the room, she puts her sword back into the sheath and sits down at a table and calls out...*
"Waiter !! A glass of your best Saturnian Mugglewog, IF you can manage"....

So, you wanna talk? Well, all I can talk about is the fact that my shuttle is ready and waiting for me to depart Earth in a few days. Have been absent too long as it is and I am back on watch duty mid of next week - just for a few days - but it does mean the trip back to Saturn...
*Takes the glass of offered Mugglewog and makes herself comfortable by the roaring fire* :D

Linflas, you'll be waiting a long time! I am sure my sister spends whole days in the bathroom at a time. She must eat the toilet roll.

Winter officially starts on the 21st of December and ends on the 20th of Marc, making us in Winter at the moment. Spring starts on the 21st of March, or so I'm told...

*Waiter!*

Edit: Um, er, hmm, oh. I think the one on the right. No, no definitely the one on the left! The one on the right is missing his 'H'

That smarmy grimace really gives away the real Chris Barrie. But the guy on the left looks a bit like him too.

it's a general air of confusion, damn you!
right, that's it, i'm off to make food, watch some tv, type some words, do some job searches ,and quietly cry into my pasta about how nasty people are to me...

I don't think I understand what's considered going off-topic in these boards. We don't have so much action going on that some wandering tangents are going to destroy the boards, and I'm just not sure what's supposed to be said where, what kind of conversation is appropriate where, and what kind of conversation (like, random chitchat?) is just not at all appropriate on the boards.

If someone could make a VERY specific set of rules about this, I'd like to know. Otherwise I'll try to just post about Dungeon Master?

Heh, it's not about controlling what people can say or not say -- it's just that when threads begin to go off topic by more than three or four replies it makes the original subject really difficult to track, especially for new people coming to the discussion half way through.

Once a forum like this has been around for a while it ends up becoming a community and we all like to chat and tease and what not. But there are people coming here just for information about the games or dungeons or whatever. The whole point of having threads for specific topics is so that people can find what they want without having to wade through pages and pages of idle chatter.

Of course, *our* chatter isn't idle. It's bloody important! ;)

Okay, thanks for clearing it up. So we can make thread about random subjects, but it's kind of rude to hijack a thread that's supposed to be about something, and take it off-topic instead. I can follow that. Or at least try to. ^_~

i think it's just how followable is it, and the context of the original topic

going more than a few posts OT in a CSBwin thread, for example, would be very bad manners. Going off topic in a 'what do you think about air' topic - really, you never have to get back on topic again : )

recently the OT stuff has been spannign multiple threads and can't really be followed by reading the single thread (runnign jokes, etc) ... so that may be quite bad, epscially if it appears in a 'hello new people 'thread - but eh, but then that's what this thread is for! : )

Yup. Chitter chatter away right here and stop worrying about OT threads.
