Now it's very warm... only 9 degrees on the cold side. And stilll calm.
I don't post anymore for reasons real-life.

It's snowing again! And it's settling :D. From the looks of the website, trains are currently being delayed but not completely cancelled. Bahhh...

We have about 50 cms of old snow here, but I can't go skiing because I still have got a cold. Awww.

They forecast very low temperatures for this week, the cold wind from Siberia will be coming, yuck. :(

It seems pretty cold here right now (I've not been outside but my room is one of the coldest in the house and it's kind of chilly in here right now - I'm wearing my fleece), but no snow or anything. I think it rained last night. Woo :P.

OK. Send us some gas then! I won't cut all the trees in my woodland to heat up the wind for you! Or, at least, I won't do it for free. :)

No new snow here for maybe 10 days now, but it's extremely cold again. A week ago, we had about +2°C, the snow started thawing and all that. Now, the days are about -10°C and the nights get as low as -20°C! That's certainly unusual, especially seeing as how long this has been going on.

You're sooo right. But guess where the gas we have to buy expensively comes from... this thing has a method!

There's a ski slope not far from where I live - I think they had to close it when it snowed, lol.

That's quite normal, Ameena. They have to close it when there's too much snow, and they have to close it when there's not enough snow. When there's not enough snow, they have to make it from water (very expensive, energy consuming and environment-unfriendly), and when there's too much snow, they have to take it out on lorries (with the same environmental consequences). They never have an "accurate" amount of snow.

That's why I prefer cross-country skiing in the Highland. In that way I'm environment-friendly and don't need any expensive and energy-consuming machines, only myself. :)

No no, our ski slope is an artificial one - it has some kind of surface that isn't snow, because we don't usually get any. I mean, if they made it or whatever, it'd just melt in these normally-not-very-freezingly-cold climes of England ;).

LOL. Perhaps they should also make artificial people for skiing on this artificial slopes.

It was -30°C here this night - unusually cold for Central Europe.

It was pretty cold here too - there was ice on the cars outside when I went to bed and it was still really cold when I got up this morning.
No sign of any more white stuff though :(.

Talk about a jump in temperatures. Berlin got from -20°C to +2°C in 24 hours. It snowed a lot today again, and everything is slowly thawing. The weather prediction says that it will get colder again, though.

OK, so we have more than one meter of snow here in the Highland now, and I think that's enough. I was climbing on the roof with a shovel for two hours in the morning, trying to get the snow down. I'm really worried about the roof, it's an old house, I hope it won't collapse or something. I'm also worried about the dramatic changes of temperature, it's also not very good for older buildings. :(

It's heavily snowing here right now. They predict we're gonna have 20 cm of fresh white stuff.
I'd yay that if it wouldn't be my turn to do the "Kehrwoche" this week. MÄH! :?

ok, this will earn me a bunch of , but last weekend we (guys AND gals!)
were totally drunk (Gin Tonic iced with snow) and madly stoned (fine homegrown from last summer)
and ended up building this heavily mophus-inspired sculpture:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIdokH44zPQ

Then they forced me to make a vid the next day and put it on the tube
for the whole world to see how much we have matured since we were like... 13? Maybe?

yay snow!

YAY MOPHUS!

And people say I am perverted...

Anyway, I'm sick and tired of this winter! We currently have the next snowstorm covering everything in white cloth. This is the longest snow period in Germany since 1978/79, and I really can't stand the cold and the snow anymore!

We've just returned from skis (we were skiing - I mean cross-country skiing - with my brother and our girlfriends). The snow was fantastic today! And there were not many people, so it was very nice. I love skiing. I'm happy I'm not ill anymore, and I have enough time for it! :D

May I blame Trantor?

For everything?

All the snow is gone now.
And what did it left behind?
Mud, dirt, filth and a formerly beautiful crafted sculpture
now turned into something that has a faint resemblance with a rockpile.

BAN TRANTOR - YAY WINTER !
