Horn of Fear - NOT!

Post by LegionOfDeicide »

Come on, can we please have a sound for the horn of fear that does it some justice. The current effect sounds like a wet fart. Pleeeaaasseeeee.

Horn of fear

I'm supporting the notion, although the priority is probably not very high  But it adds to or lessens the atmosphere...

LOL
all the sound effects are so typical of the 1980s genre
horn of fear ?
why pick on that ?

all the SFX are so negligible, but then what sound would you get in a dungeon ?

actually a few far off "ice wind" sounds would be cool I guess

Bump.

Honestly, surely someone can create or sample a sound befitting of the one, the only, the HORN OF FEAR!...

In the coming weeks I'll try to muster up something if I can get my mike to work.

lol, at my current difficulty level not having a fear sound also isn't funny: Every time when no sound is played I now for certain my party is dead.

So yes, I definitely would like to have 2 sounds; for nostalgia reasons I would like to retain the old sound for an unsuccessful fear attempt and a cool horn-of-Gondor-like sound for a successful fear instilling.

Of course the war cry should be handled similiarly. Maybe we can find a cool single moment of a threatening Maori chant or something similar.

Funnily enough, I originally had the idea for CSBwin, for havign a weak version and strong version of each fear effect sound effect wise (and with male/female variants), but more to do with indicating the effects not working no effects without high fighter/priest levels!

I do think a success/failure noise would be a cool thing to add to an attack - could clone other attacks and add the swish or meaty noise to a swing (a la conflux)

Wow, I like that one! Is that the original sound but manipulated a bit?

I can remember playing DM and the horn of fear was on occasion a lifesaver!

it "turned" some vicious looking creatures at right angles just when you needed to evade them, nothing like that in L O G is there? ;)
