Interesting timing for that FF music, there's discussions going on another forum I'm a member of about game music in general and Final Fantasy in particular. I've never played any of the FF games myself but they are the sort of games I typically like so I will eventually play them. I mainly never got into them because I didn't have the platforms they've come out on, otherwise I definitely would have tried them.

For the past couple of weeks I've had this song by Pharrell Williams stuck in my head. It's a good song so in this case I don't mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6Sxv-sUYtM

I find that music extremely relaxing, and perfect timing too, as it's almost bedtime where I am. :)

i'm not a piano fan, but when it's played like that i like it. can feel the breath in it. i was brought up in classical music, grandmother a teacher, mother was a player with one brother and two sisters who could also play. very nice ebs :)

Glad you liked it. I wasn't a piano fan at all, until I first heard this guy about 10 years ago, through this particular tune as it happens. To me it was unique, I had never heard anything quite like it. By now he has a number of albums, I think his music is really amazing, minimal in a sense, but also quite inventive and loose. Have seen him a few times in concert also, really moving. The Youtube video doesn't do it justice.

i guess my fave piano style would be like in the Cartoon classics Peanuts, Charles Shultz i think, i am not a fan of classical although i was brought up on it and can whistle most of them, my dad loved the stuff and i didn't get great sleep when he was drinking when that classic music blasting out into my young ears, put me off music entirely until db and jungle came around...

I love Spanish music too. Also, I'm studying Spanish ATM so that song actually helps me to practice listening to the language. Thanks for posting that.

Here's a song in Spanish that I heard last fall, my Spanish prof. played it in class, I figure you might like this one too:

I hadn't heard that song before, it definitely brings me back to the 80s. I can see why that song could get stuck in your head.

An old favourite.... and yet i've always favoured heavier music (i'm in a heavy rock band... Yes! At my age), but there is something about it.
I really like the lyrics, and the way it drops off at the chorus.

I see. My musical tastes are pretty eclectic. I like everything from some native north american music to some rap and heavy metal, and anything in between. Some of my favorite artists, to give you an idea of how broad my musical tastes are, are:
  • Mesa Music Consort: Native North American music
  • 2Unlimited: electronic/techno
  • Barenaked Ladies
  • The Beatles
  • Bon Jovi
  • REM
  • Grace Under Pressure: Local band with a style similar to Evanescence, another favorite of mine
  • Hootie and the Blowfish
  • Chill E.B.
  • Brian Adams (although he's dropped off lately he was a favorite of mine back in the 90s)
