Hi everybody,

I initially didn't know about this post and I created one a couple of days ago in 'news and discussions'.

If you want to play Wiliness 3 you can download a free version on my website at:

http://www.geocities.com/lkermel (Then click on 'My ST games' and 'Wiliness')

The game is also available from (but you will need to log-in)

http://www.atarilegend.com

or the Dead Hackers Society:

http://www.dhs.nu/

My web site also offers a whole documentation with screenshots and tons of other information.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions or if you find bugs, or have comments and feedbacks. But be aware that the game is not finished and only the first 5 levels are fully playable, which still provides hours of play...

I initially started this game 15 years ago and I am really pleased to offer a playable version in 2004, I hope you will like it :)

hello

damn ...! I never heard about you Laurent...(i don't know a much of Atari ST scene) but i'm impressed of your creation.

I saw the screens.
imho: The Wiliness wall graphics is low quality (could be better). Monsters are really good.
Do u think about any The Wiliness conversions to PC/Amiga ??
Can u tell what platforms and programming languges u use to writting games ??

Hi Selur,

I'm glad you like my games :)
You are actually spot on on the quality of the walls ! this is something I always wanted to change in Wiliness 3 but always been too lazy to do it. There are many layers and I never was courageous enough to do it... I did all those games 10 and 15 years ago and it was already a challenge to translate them in English ...
I though many times to convert WIliness 3 for the PC where the view could be full screen and in 3D. But I never had time to start such project... maybe one day.
I wrote my old Atari ST games in GFA basic, there are a couple of assembly routines (some are mine and some others borrowed from magazines). Today I mainly use PC computers and C and C++

Hope you will like Wiliness :)

Well i didn't play Wlliness because i have no Atari ST emulator yet ( when I finish a few things I will try to search any and test it )
I think 3D is bad idea. All 3D fpp games are really good but in fpp shooters not in RPG.
3D RPGs are suck. I tried to play Gothic ect...but these games are really poor.
3D owns Quake series,Counter Stike ect...but not any RPG (did anyone see very impressive fpp 3D RPG game ? I didn't.. )

Well i like some icon graphics from Wiliness on your website ( I redrawed and change a little a few icons ..i hope u will not be angry for that .. ) :-)

I dont know how peoples can write any games in C with these graphics drivers ... ? Are there any normal drivers allow to open screens like 1024*768 with 24bit palette and working very fast ?? ...( I try to do anything with original like 640*480 with 16 colors and it is slow and looks fatal...so i wonder how anyone can write game in C/C++ ??)

Hi,

I was wondering if someone had tried Wiliness and if you had comments about it. As I mentionned the game is not finished and I was wondering if it would be worth for me to complete the last two or three levels.
Sadly I have never received any feedbacks...

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have comments, even if they are bad, or extremely bad.

Thanks for your help :)

Bonjour Laurent, :)

As a Dungeon Master fan I'am, I will like to play Wiliness but I not know well the Atari ST scene compared to Amiga. What is the better emulator for ST to play Williness in a good conditions for Windows XP system ? Maybe someone else can answer to my basic question, I'm a ignorant about Atari ST.

Bonjour Phantomlord,

I think that Steem is quite good. A few years ago it was the only emulator I could run Chaos Strikes Back.

Steem home page is here:
http://steem.atari.st/

Don't forget to download a TOS Rom (equivalent of Amiga KickStart )

Bonjour,

Pedro is correct, STeem is quite good. I used it to finalize the version of Wiliness I released in December and the game works fiiiiine with it. Do not forget to extent the RAM to 1 Meg or more though.

There is another emulator called SainT (which I have never tried), here is the home page:

http://saint.atari.org/

TOS Roms images can be easily found but they are still copyrighted, this is why you will probably have to dig around, (I think STeem home page proposes a couple of them...)

Thanks for trying the game :)
