[DSB] SNES PORT v1.51(English translation has be done!)

Post by Qwerty »

Hello, All.

Sophia's DSB and ESB are very interesting tools for me and Lua language is so powerful.
I had time to create my custom dungeon with ESB and DSB day after day.
Now I've finished this project and upload it.

"SFCMOD_v1.51"(37.0MB)
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?jpz9kbkwszj7j3k
unzip pass : SFCMOD

Download this dungeon from this Shared OneDrive (in the 'Custom Dungeons' folder)

If you want to play SNES PORT in English. Choose "ENGLISH" icon and start "NEW GAME".

Prologue of SNES version and LordOrder.

Red Dragon! It's a tough fight!

Bar Indicators of EXP to next level below skillnames.

Map and mechanism in this dungeon is similar to original DM,
But there are a few differences between my own customs and original DM.
Please read the "README_ENG\readme.txt".

Enjoy and Thanks. :D

Wow, it looks super nice ! And the music is cool.

Did you use the released DM dungeon as a base ?

This dungeon was made based on SFC(Super Family Computer)-DM(a.k.a SNES-DM).
I've created this dungeon while playing DM with SFC.

Thanks for playing all.

I think that It's probably not a bug.
Because , In the base lua code, the monster which have high "Armor" or "Anti-Poison" was immune to the DES_VEN spells.
(e.g Rockpile has high "Armor", Skeleton has high "Anti-poison")
I tested to cast DES_VEN spell to Screamer, Screamer was taken about 20 damages.

Certainly, DES_VEN spells on DSB is different behavior from RTC.
IMHO, I'll suggest to try casting OH_VEN spell to Rockpile instead of casting DES_VEN.
Poison cloud on DSB could give powerful and painfully damage to monster like a Rockpile. :)

Where do I get V1.4? The download link above still says V1.3

I would like to have a look at the dungeon.lua with ESB. Can you upload it somewhere, please?

I just realised that this is the same dungeon posted here by Skellimancer in this thread:
http://dungeon-master.com/forum/viewtop ... 5&p=129305

The actual download link is here:
http://www3.tok2.com/home/rodananmin/cg ... pload.html

I'll get a backup of it at some point hosted here...

I wonder why the file is named RTC - was this an RTC dungeon first?

No idea. By the way, you won't be able to load the dungeon into ESB as it's been compiled and therefore protected from editing.

Yes, I know - that's why I'm asking Qwerty whether he would allow me to have a look at the dungeon.lua, I'd be interested in a couple of differences between Amiga-DM and Nitendo-DM.

If you just want to see the visual map differences, you can view them here (scroll to page bottom for SNES)

Actually I would like to import a couple of additional rooms from the Nitendo version into the normal DM dungeon.

Cool! I will try and provide an alternative host for 1.5 on the filespace here too if that's ok.

At the moment the readme.txt seems to still be dead?

Ooops...Sorry.I'd forgot to check the link of readme.txt.
Please wait to translate it into English and re-upload it.

[Edit]
OK. I translated and uploaded Readme.txt in English.
If you don't comprehend my translation well due to poor English, I apologize it.

I' ve played tested this [DSB 056] SNES PORT v1.51 English.
Apart the reported sound "from too far", no problem. 8)
The dragon and the lord chaos levels are not exactly the same as in DM on Atati ST or DM for PC. Is this because, it is a SNES version ?
I guess what is beyond "Prove you are a wizard" is an add on. Does it belong to the SNES version ?

Thanks for playing SNES PORT, Terkio.
Terkio wrote:Apart the reported sound "from too far", no problem.
That's a relief. :)
I'm not sure if most of foreigners have played DM in SNES version and they are interested in it.
So I worry about nobody play my dungeon or bothering them for CTD by Lua Error.
Terkio wrote:The dragon and the lord chaos levels are not exactly the same as in DM on Atati ST or DM for PC. Is this because, it is a SNES version ?
Yes. In SNES version, The secret way to RedDragon's room in which it can enter using a Wing Key doesn't exist. This means that if you made a Firestaff with gem, There is no way you go back above level 12.
Terkio wrote:I guess what is beyond "Prove you are a wizard" is an add on. Does it belong to the SNES version ?
That's an extra level for SNES PORT when you choose "DSB" at the "New Game", Therefor It doesn't exist in SNES version originally. And if you choose "original" at the "New Game", The downstairs which lead into the extra level is closed.
