Post by Lunever »

Since Beo moved a couple of posts to the custom dungeon thread list, I'll just copy & paste in here the bit that was intended for this thread:

If you would be so kind to send me the text files (my Name here at gmail dot com), I will add them to my local archive.
I will of course not give them to anybody or otherwise make them accessible without your explicit permission
(that is they stay locally since you made clear you don't want to release them).

New in 3.3 version:
Removed the damn wall!

New in 3.2 version:
Added a wall in the mages guild that makes impossible to finish the game!
Yes its usual problem, fix one part and broke another. I also build dungeon and after test make list of changes: maybe place here door, but then.. do i put also button? hah! and test again.

I hope this is the finally last very end complete fixed tested version (last time i visit this project it was 3.0)

I have a general question. I am running the game in parrallel destop. The window is very small. especially against the 23" monitor it is on. Is there no way to expand the screen size? I would love to fill my display with a full sized ful ir spell!! Any way?? is it an rtc limitation? I have tried compiling for fullscreen, but , no.

Gambit knocked this one ages ago, so I don't belive you can issue different resolutions anymore without going back to old version of the engine, which won't work with ToC :(

Zed, this is the last version. It works, at least 3 people have finished it.
To be honest I hope that in the future there will be a new version whit scrolls and texts written in a decent English.

did no really experience any problems with the scrolls and ext messages. If there are specific problems that anyone might have experienced , could they let the rest of us know. The problems I have had have not really had anything to do with poor text.

I see few improvements, but not in game speed so this is unplayable to me. I cant run when mouse cursor is moving like snail.

Lai, the 4.0 is coming, wait just few days. The only maps are in-game (cellar, sewers, stair maze and pit levels). If you want I can create a rough map of the external area, the other levels aren't so problematic.
I see few improvements, but not in game speed
Zed, I think you have some problems with your hardware. What processor do you have? RAM?

Half Life 2 can work on a win 98 machine though - well, it could until steam upgraded itself beyond letting you!

Excellent :) Would you mind replacing the title image on your first post for a smaller JPG? It's currently a 1.3MB PNG and takes aaaaaaaaaaaaaages to load because Imageshack is so slow. An image like that shouldn't be more than 100Kb. Many thanks.

Changed the title image, Gambit. Now it's a jpeg.

Cool, many thanks. It really does help the user experience to keep file sizes small for quick downloading, so I appreciate you changing it :)

Hi, looking forward to playing this..looks superb!

Just a question and apologies if it's been answered but the graphics on the floor are messed up for some reason (using version 49 RTC).

Any suggestions please?

Actually, that's how it's meant to look :-) The floor in this part of the game uses a Dungeon Master 2 swampy floor -- those are the images for it. They look fine in an old pixellated DM2 dungeon, but as you've noticed, they don't mesh very well with higher quality walls, etc.

I'm playing the new version and am about half way through or so. Certainly noticed a few changes! Will post an additional review when completed.

Oh! I didn't realise v4 had been posted. I saw the note about it coming, but because Adamski then edited his post, rather than posting a new message, I missed that it had been updated.

This is a reminder to everyone: don't edit old posts, especially if you're announcing something. Post a new one. Edited posts don't show up in the list of new posts when you return to the forum.

Uh oh! Think I've found a critical bug (It's also there in 3.3) -- in the first cell,
Spoiler
when you use the hammer to bash the wall down, if you also bash the revealed pit, it closes!
You can't progress.

I was looking at the bug fixes. I did not think the infinite gems was a bug. I could not have finished the game the first time through without the gems to buy food. I like a well hidden way to increase wealth! I will continue to play 3.3 for a while. It is as good a game as has ever been created. Do not give up. The only change to help beginners could be a scroll or group of scrolls with hints at priorities. Like a scroll that gives a hint at the importance of completing certain parts as early as possible. The ful rune might be one thing.

Hoe are the new projects coming. I have been playing a little Skyrim. Finally a game worthy of mentioning in the same breath as DM
