I know where they are coming from its just that there is a big pit stopping me from getting there. I have searched around for a switch but can't find one. I have a feeling
Spoiler
that its something to do with Delta in the pit because when I throw it into the haze it sometimes ends up on the other side of the pit

Have you dared to go zig-zag accross the large hall? If yes, surely you found a strange object with
Spoiler
four portcullis and a scroll inside
(in the southern part of the hall)? Do what the
Spoiler
scroll
says!
Spoiler
Lure a creature inside
!

Okay got the skeleton key. Now what. The
Spoiler
stairs lead no where
I have been back to the rat run to see if anything has happened there
Spoiler
nothing has changed
so where to now. Wish I hadn't started this now. I must try and think differently from DM and do what I am told, especially what is written on scrolls.

Although I haven't got that far, I'm very much convinced that you have to continue through the rat level as in the original DM, not throught the central stairway. Isn't there a fake wall somewhere around? (as with the "When rock is not rock")?

I hope Paul makes a "Chaos Strikes Back in Parallel Universe" - this would be an ultimate doom for us all.

Don't think there is any way through the rat level as I have been to both ends and it seems like they are both blocked with no false walls. I am about to check all the walls down the corridor now to see if there are any there. I hate false walls though as there are so many walls in a dungeon I just think its unfair on the player unless you get a clue as in the first DM "when is a rock not a rock".

It is not a false wall - maybe one of the spinners has caught you out. Have you got the corbamite?

Paul I recognised that there was a spinner there but I still cannot fathom, if anything what it is trying to do. I have been to the location further up where it looks like a fake wall but cannot find that. Haven't got corbamite. Where should I have got that from? Would that make a difference as to whether I could go on or not.

Have you continued, Master? Where are you now? I think you've got a huge head-start now. I found some time to go on today, ran through the Rat level (the extra
Spoiler
spinner
slowed me down a bit  - that area was well done, Paul!) and then got a heart attack when I realised that the Zooom ride took me to one of my most "favourite" parts of the DM. I'm too scared now to go on so I'll continue tomorrow.

I'm afraid that the weapon I'm carrying now (Sword Striking) is not the best one - I can't wait for something else. A Diamond Edge would be very nice.

Jan
the levels on here are big, very big. I think what he has done is merge several floors into one big one. I have been playing the deth knights level for about 3 days now and although getting to grips with it I still can't find the Ra key I need to go back up and get the firestaff.

Alright, wait for me there with a few chilled beers! I'm on my way. I've just finished the Scorpion level with my heart in my throat, casting fireballs like crazy in all directions just in case. I expect Paul made some nasty changes in the level below where you have to choose one of the three doors. Don't tell me though! :)

Alright. I'm on the knights' level too. Seem to be very knightful.

@Paul: Is there still the Diamond Edge on the Water Elemental Level? I wasn't able to locate the Poison Chamber. I found the Fury (I liked the way you connected the
Spoiler
four clockwise/anticlockwise chambers
) but I prefer the Diamond Edge. I'm really enjoying this game! :D

Could you be more specific, please?

I've got a problem on the Knight level now. I'm not able to
Spoiler
close the obvious pit
in the hall with the row of invisible pits.

Also, is there something necessary in the "Cowards will be hunted down and killed" area? I closed it as I'm used to - in CSBWin the switch is two-way (closing and opening the wall) but here it seems to be one-way only. I don't seem to be able to re-open the wall. If there was something crucial, I'm doomed. :(

I've finished the rest of the level except the area
Spoiler
behind the pit
.

Spoiler
I seem to have accidently blocked the Diamond Edge off! Will put that back in in v2. To close the pit, drop down it and find a button. The Cowards bit should work as normal, the button toggles the wall. Nothing important there though

Thanks, Paul, I don't think I'd have found it without your advice. I've run through the Firestaff level and reached the Dragon (or should I say
Spoiler
"Dragon"
? :) ) level now. I'll leave it for tomorrow.

And the "Coward" switch really works differently in CSBWin. But maybe there's a difference between CSBWin and RTC - it really worked for me only once here and the wall cannot be removed now. But never mind - there's just a load of useless crap there and a "few" yucky spiders.

(and LOL to that memo in the Chaos' lair I've just read :D )

Some nice items there now though ;-)

Not sure why it is not reopening, the switch specifically says 'toggle' on it!

Paul how do you release the Deth Knight from behind the ornate door as I think he is holding a key I need to open one of the doors through the pit we were talking about earlier.

I've looked into the original DM for RTC and it has both "Toggle" and "Disable Self" ticked. I don't know RTC but perhaps the "Disable Self" just makes the switch to disappear (mechanically, only the wall decoration remains)? Dunno, you have to ask elsewhere.

@Master: are you behind the pit? If yes,
Spoiler
look for a tiny switch on one of the walls
in the corridor behind the pit. If not, close the pit as Paul adviced a few posts above.

Unfortunately I haven't had time to play since Sunday because I'm bloody busy at work because we've got the exam period and also the bloody grant applications period. I hope I'll be able to continue this Saturday. On Sunday I've reached the room with many eye-on-wall decorations and a pit.

And, hey, what have you done to that poor old
Spoiler
Dragon
- have you fed him with steroids or what? :)
