Bum. I intended to release a demo of this in a few weeks, but realised I'm using a private beta version of RTC that GG gave me last year. Therefore, no-one can play this until GG comes back and releases the next version!

They would agree. You have to use some sort of arch (a support carrying the mass above, i.e. directing the pressure to the sides), and they did, believe me, although it doesn't look like the arches in our churches, and they were built of the same stone blocks as the rest of the pyramids. But never mind, that's a technical detail.
Finally playing and immensely enjoying the awesome Thimbleweed Park-a-reno!

@Jan: Yes, indeed, that was my point -- if you imagine an arch as being two walls with one big slab across the top (think stonehenge) then of course they built arches; I thought you were referring to using an arch with a keystone. Anyway, let's just pretend some magical force is preventing my dungeon ceiling from collpasing, so the player can rampage without having to worry about a crushing death :-)

OK, regrettably, I report that this project is dead. Well, at least as a RTC adventure anyway.

As I developed the story, I realised I wanted it to be a lot richer than I could possibly treat in a DM type game. I've decided to shelve it as a RTC adventure and instead do it as a game book, either on-line or self-published. That's a project for a few years time anyway...

The work I've done so far on graphics and maps will be fed into a smaller, more easily achievable Fighting Fantasy inspired adventure for RTC. So the stuff you've seen so far isn't wasted :-)

A game book! Sounds great. Do bleed us a little information from time to time. :)

Good to know you are still around!
Was unable to (permenantly) kill off ian_scho (Haynuus), Ameena, oh_brother (Westian), money (Falkor), raixel (Petal) and Lord_Bones (Aurek) in the DM D&D game Time's Champions!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THOSE WHO MADE THE GAME WHAT IT WAS - GREAT!

Thanks for the link Joramun, but that gamebook engine is pretty terrible :-(

Unless I'm missing something, it produces really clunkily controlled adventures. You can also get it to generate synthesised voiceover, which in theory sounds cool, in practice is awful.

HAHA sorry then... I suppose an engine is not necessary :)
