Custom Dungeon like Dungeon Keeper

Post by terkio »

[Admin Note: Split from the DSB April Fool thread - please stay on topic in future]

Can we have dungeons where you play the bad guy with his minions, like in dungeon keeper.
Enough of those heroes that destroy nicely crafted dungeons and hurt their dwellers.

Yeah, but starting with Chaos in the party is too easy... make the player earn him though hours of pain-staking goody-goody killing :P

Overlord is another cool game where you play the bad guy, though it's not so much of an RPG and isn't first-person. You play an Evil Overlord with your little Minions who run around and do whatever you want, so for the most part you send them in to do all the work while you stand back and watch. Though of course you have a weapon and can use it to smite stuff yourself (great big axe or sword or whatever you choose, plus you can buff it by sacrificing Minions at the forge in your tower). You have four types of Minion, which roughly match to the four basic RPG classes - Browns are the "warriors", the toughest physicall to run up and hit stuff. Reds are the "wizards", crap hp and attack by throwing little fireballs at stuff. Greens are the "rogues", who go insivible when you tell them to guard a spot and will ambush any enemies who pass by, dealing nice sneak attack damage but don't have much in the way of hp themselves. Finally, Blues are the "clerics", who have fairly crap hp and a not-very-good ranged attack (they throw these little blue ball thingys), but are best left "parked" near a battle as they'll run forward and grab any dead Minions, reteating a safe distance in order to rez said Minions so they can get back to the fight. Minions of any type will also loot the bodies of their enemies and end up wearing/wielding a variety of weird weapons and armour (anything from pumpkins-as-helmets to the swords of fallen soldiers, etc).
Anyway, I suppose in DM you could have a dungeon in which your characters are a Minion of each type and you're in the dungeon because the Overlord told you to go and deal with some troublemakers, ie local peasants/guards or whoever who've discovered the place and are dong goody-goody things there.
