Asdfasdfasdf windows.

Post by Sophia »

I'm still awake, which, if you can tell from my location and the time, means it's half-past-ass o'clock. Perhaps in GMT that's known as arse o'clock, I'm not sure. But anyway, it's the time, and I'm up.

Why? Because I'm a perfectionist, mostly, but I'd rather blame Windows, because I'm occupied with it. I'm trying to reinstall and reconfigure Windows after it made a mess all over itself (I love how we just sort of accept the fact that the OS needs to be reinstalled every so often, eh!) so guess I could go to bed and leave a mess, but I'd rather get things just right while my train of thought is still moving in the proper direction. So, yeah, it's not fun.

By the way, I also own a mac and I like it, and I know windows sucks, so please no OS evangelizing in this thread. I'm just venting.

as announced in the chat, I am now a proud owner of my own inflatable horse.

There is a warning label on it saying:

"Don't jerk on valve stem"

Could as well be a popup window telling the user, the OS is about to
"make a mess all over itself".

Sssshh...

Oh how I miss my ST. It sure didn't have the RAM I enjoy with my IBM clone, er, XP Pro OS, machine.

Sorry for you, Sophia. I'm about to upgrade my computer. I'm considering sticking with XP Pro or else the new Win 7.

Personally I would highly recommend to switch to a operating system called "Horse 1.0".
It has been beta-tested for more than 150 million years, so with version 1.0 now available at your computer store, you can take advantage of it's advanced technology today.

However, despite the fact that this is the most reliable and stable product on the market, you will soon notice that this OS still has many glitches.
For instance, every time your computer boots up, you are forced to run "Feed 5.3" and "Water 7.1", as they are essential for the startup of the system. Furthermore it might well happen you find yourself working on a important document and a window will pop up starting "Clean Stall 2.0". This program also contains applications you probably did not wish to install, even less run it on schedule daily, such as "Manure 8.5". While Horse 1.0 is running, "Vacation 2.7" and "Free Time 10.0" no longer work, crashing your computer whenever selected.

Also Horse 1.0 will attach itself to any additional program like Finance Manager and MS Money, with folders added such as "Monthly Shoeing", "Winter Blanket" and "refill grain barrel". You may try to uninstall "Horse 1.0", but you'll get a warning message telling you, a deadly virus known as "Withdrawal" is about to infect your system and damage it beyond repair.

Finally you should run C:\Horse\Carrots and C:\Horse\Scratch_Ears on a fairly regular base to keep the application running smoothly.
If you have further questions, ask right away.

Being an advanced user of "Horse 1.0", peak manure pile supervisior, muck out superadmin and experienced wheelbarrow engineer, I'm now selling the inflatable greek giftware version on ebay.

This fully licensed giftware version bypasses the most annoying application, such as "Clean Stall 2.0" and "Manure 8.5", that keep the regular users from getting a full version. However, as this is giftware, users have to go without a fur interface, as well as a very limited agility.

Have fun!

Fil - milk product, the short form of filmjölk, is a Swedish fermented milk product.
Fil - Functional Imaging Laboratory, the colloquial name for the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging
Fil (de Cassons) - a mountain in the Alps
(Sura Al-) Fil - the 105th sura of the Qur'an.

I'd fil(l) in:
Fil (antrophy) - if you had a Rechtschreibreform.
Fil (ly) - what a mare gives you when you want a colt
Fil (l ed up with this s***) - state of the mind while reinstalling your OS, after it made a mess all over itself.
