how to put objects in inventory has specific place of when have chooses his champions in miror

Looking at the DM and DM2 examples, you just have to add the objects onto the same tile as the mirror. I'm not sure if you can choose which specific location in the inventory the items go, but the characters seem to auto equip some objects like clothes and weapons.
It's not a bug in the program, I've just gone and done something weird.
