I'm stuck

I am at a part where it says something like drop a valueable item to close the pit, I have dropped everything and I can't get through the force field.

Hi Vett!

You shouldn't have any problems with this "puzzle". What version are you playing?

Just put any object on the floor (in the square with the haze), and it will be teleported behind the pit and close it. You can retrieve the object then.
Finally playing and immensely enjoying the awesome Thimbleweed Park-a-reno!
