Outdated - List of custom dungeons

Post by Zyx »

This list is out of date, check the updated List of Custom Dungeons

Last update: 20:06, 30th July 2016:

Take a look about our strange rating system, and then review a dungeon! (See this thread about why you should.)
You could also rate it. Three categories: Small dungeons, Medium dungeons and Big dungeons.`

IMPORTANT NOTE: SOME DUNGEONS WERE MADE UNDER OLDER VERSIONS OF CLONE ENGINES. PLEASE SEE THE NEXT POST FOR DETAILS OF THIS. USE THE CORRECT ENGINE WITH SOME OLDER DUNGEONS, ESPECIALLY RTC.

Download many Custom Dungeons from this shared OneDrive in the Custom Dungeons folder.

For amiga emulator:
Custom dungeons by meynaf. Files need decompressed using unlzx program of Amiga's own llzx program. DM.com discussion (with download) here.

I think we should keep this thread clear. Post here only to mention mistakes, omissions, updated links, or new releases that I may have missed. I'll update the list and then delete your post.

EDIT: I'm not anymore the only one to update the list: Beowuuf and Sophia are also in charge.

Engine Help
CSBwin - usually games are supplied with the correct version. Newest stable version of the engine can be downloaded at the bottom of this page. Either DM or CSB versions are acceptable, both have the 10.0 engine. Experimental versions of the engine are available through the CSBwin forum here

RTC - newest version is 0.49, downloadable here:
http://dmweb.free.fr/Stuff/files/rtc/RTC_V049.zip

Earlier dungeons need earlier versions of the engine to run correctly. If a dungeon does not work, please ask on the forum thread.

Um, while I had a pretty messed up 2011 and didn't had much time for Dungeon Master, I actually didn't intent to disappear completely.
I just noticed that my MSN Skydrive where I stored all those custom dungeons is blank, I guess it is flushed after a certain period of not being used actively.
I intend to fix this soon. Sorry for any inconvenience.

So, finally, after sorting through some old HD from the machine I last played DM/RTC, I'm reloading my dungeon archive to my skydrive (upload in progress, will take a couple of hours). Since sykdrive seems to flush stuff without notice some other backup solution is advisable for the future.

Hi, good to hear from you :-) It seems all those free cyberlockers will flush your files if they are not accessed. You're right -- for long term storage, a better alternative is needed.

I think maybe a public Dropbox would be the best way of doing it, I'll look into that. (I don't know if stuff can be protected from being deleted).

Hi Gambit, good to hear from you too!

Since those files aren't that big - is there some leftover space where the forum is hosted?

We have plenty of space, but I thought the point was to have another backup elsewhere? Plus we already host a lot of dungeons here anyway -- it would need cross referencing and consolidation if you want to host them here, otherwise we're potentially duplicating files...

Well, actually I don't mind whether the backup is here or somewhere else - my intention was just to have them as a backup all in one place instead of having them first spread among multiple external file hosters and then slowly notice them disappear one by one. I've been using Skydrive because the Dungeons uploaded at the Encyclopedia used to have a file size limit that didn't fit well with RTC dungeons that came with grafix&sound (like RTC-EOB).

Also, I like the idea that if I want to install them on a new machine I can just make a quick download (possibly using a download manager to download all files from a download link site) and unzip them into the suiting directory of the engine used (like RTC/modules) and be done with it (unless it has version compatibility issues, which is why I added version information to the RTC files).

Cool, well I'm happy to host it all here in that case. What's the best way of you sending me the files?

Well, since I uploaded them again to skydrive, you could download them there.

Though the latest of those files are from 2010, so if there have been later updates, they might be replaced, but first things first.

Seems a long time since this has been updated....

I have made three dungeons in the last couple of years. Any chance of adding them?

For RTC:-
Dark Reign 2 - http://www.mediafire.com/download/8lcxo ... EIGN+2.RTC
The Chaos Mirror - http://www.mediafire.com/download/s3ye5 ... MIRROR.RTC
For DSB:-
Dark Reign - http://www.mediafire.com/download/167av ... gn+DSB.zip

Another RTC dungeon to follow very shortly.

Question: Would these also be added to the encyclopaedia?

If one has a custom dungeon that they would like to submit, how would they go about doing it?

Just something that would be useful to know.

I would create a new post in the sub-category of the Custom Dungeons. There are lots of examples of people announcing their dungeons there. Don't forget to SELL your masterpiece! :D

Last version of Conflux III is WIP008. Beside the Onedrive link, there's a direct link here:

Can someone update the first post of the topic ?

I will likely keep copies that mirror the structure of the onedrive link on my computer and offer via discord or other means in the future. It has always been my hope that discord would involve more fan made content, like the clones, custom dungeons, tools etc. I hope to mention this in rarer YT videos and the like, already found a japanese YT who has played 3 different RTC dungeons.

Re: Japanese YT who played some RTC, they had joined the discord where i found about it. They have since joined the forum under the user name: Snow Maple Already gave them the link to this forum to check out others. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCl7aFS ... rSID0Jqn6A a few other RTC as well it seems. auto generated english CC is hit and miss though.
