I stumbled on a post where a dungeon master fan said he was ready for a new custom dungeon, his eraser and color pencils were ready.
I rushed to a paper store to get brand new color pencils.
I started using red for upstairs and blue for down stairs.
What color would you use ? On which important tiles ?

Re: What colors do you use on your DM maps
I'd use red for tiles that contain something harmful to the party, like trap that sends a fireball Apocalypse hurling down the corridor at the party, so sends them down a long, bottomless pit of doom or something.
I'd probably use green and blue to represent stairs up and stairs down respectively. black/grey would be for walls and brown for doors. Yellow I wouldn't bother using as it would be too hard to see against the white graph paper.
