Rather expensive Gor Coin on eBay...

Post by Gambit37 »

If you're really desperate for a Gor Coin and are extremely rich, how about this on eBay?

Wow. Bit of a collector's item now then, eh? I bet there's someone out there who actually is willing to pay that much for something like that, as well...

I think that might be pushing it a bit!

Amazing. I don't think mine was golden, maybe the quality was lower for the German release. Unfortunately, I seem to have lost mine.

Well, the title says "Gold Gor Coin" but in the text below you learn that the coin "contains no real gold" so don't get too over-excited.

I think it's just some sort of brass mixture. That photo looks especially "gold" probably because it was shined for the listing to make it look more valuable ;-)

BTW, nice to see you back here Trantor! How's things?

Thanks Gambit! Life has been rough the past two years (lost both parents in 14 months), and I'm struggling with some health issues, but I'm generally fine for now. :)

Grüss Gott, Trantor! It's wonderful to see you around again, and ubnanned! :D I'm very sorry to read about your parents, please accept my deepest condolences - I cannot even think of this happening to me, it would really turn me into a complete wreck for a long time. And I hope that your health problems are not too serious and that you'll be back in the best shape soon (you're not much older than me, so what the heck! :) ) . I'm hoping to see you around now as much as possible! :P

wow, that is pricy. I'd like to know what they used to shine it up, the coin I have looks similar to an old penny but think it is made of brass.

Trantor, sorry for your loss, I wish you well.

That was posted ageeeeeeeeees ago, the seller posted on here asking about the value.

I tried to buy it (put an offer in) but the seller turned out to be a massive bitch and sent me insulting messages.

I have it on my watch list just to see how long it'll be on there for. Considering a kind forum user gave me one for free I don't see it selling any time soon.

I recently found one of my loose ones. I'm going to leave it in my vibratory tumbler for a week and see what happens (it shines up my pinball parts rather well, so we'll see :)
