Bloody Hell, you're right, and I thought... haven't I seen this before?
Any chance of the former FTL guys suing Microsoft, winning an awful lot of money and giving us a small part of it?

Finally playing and immensely enjoying the awesome Thimbleweed Park-a-reno!

The Sar symbol is also exactly the same as that for the astrological sign of Taurus, though, whic I'm pretty sure is a little older...if rather less interesting .

Re: Windows 10 SAR login
The moment I saw it on my wife's laptop I thought.. "what game is she playing? they took that symbol from DM.. I wonder if it's a dungeon crawler.." .. Then I saw her log into windows.. "oh....."
Now that I installed it on my surface I can't stop seeing it as Sar.
I wonder how many other hidden DM symbols we can find in our environments and software "sar" is also the symbol for Bismuth. Some of them we see frequently already.. "Lo" is rewind on most DVD controls "Um" is on the playstation controlers. On is in nearly every math equation you saw in school. "Vi" is straight forward as a symbol for water and is likely all over the place. "Ven" was taken from black widows.. and "Ew" "ir" "ros" and "Dain" I'm certain come from some alphabet somewhere.. "Ra" is asterix.. "Gor" lighting.. and so on.. actually, thinking about it.. several can be found in standard runes from Viking alphabets..

That alphabet reminds me a lot of Tolkien's Dwarfish alphabet. Khudzul, I think the language is called.

^^ Tolkien adapted his runes from Anglo-Saxon and Scandinavian runes, hence the similarity.

Ahh fair enough, I thought it was more the Rohirrim who were based in Scandinavian stuff - maybe I'm getting them mixed up . They might've been more kind of Old English, now I think about it. I forget. I have read about this stuff on Arda*, though. It was just a while ago .
