5) C = What does it mean? What English word?
6) B = What does it mean? What English word?
7) B = What does it mean? What English word?
8 ) A = What does it mean? What English word?
9) O = What does it mean? What English word?
10) C = What does it mean? What English word?
11) A = What does it mean? What English word?

5 ) C = "Third Letter of Alphabet"
6 ) B = "Second Letter of Alphabet"
7 ) B = "Second Letter of Alphabet"
8 ) C = "Third Letter of Alphabet"
9 ) O = "Fifteenth Letter of Alphabet"
10 ) C = "Third Letter of Alphabet"
11 ) A = "First Letter of Alphabet"
386 "GIVE UPx\nPULL THE\nLEVER" "RAS LE BOL ?\nTIRE SUR\nLE LEVIER" // no good
I made a writing error?
I doubt it. Patience, please. I'll have an answer tomorrow.

I do not understand this rebus (puzzle)!
But, It is not important... I would make an anagram ["OUEST (WEST) (CBBAOC) = SOUTE (WETS, It is an example. Because WETS is not English)"].
I doubt it. Patience, please. I'll have an answer tomorrow.
Please accept my excuses. I am an old man... But I am like a young boy waiting!

"GIVE UP]\nPULL THE\nLEVER" "RAS LE BOL ?\nTIRE SUR\nLE LEVIER" //

And before you ask: "No, I don't know why."

But if you use CSBuild to edit the text, you will see the square bracket.

Everything is good, thank you.

I used "CSBuild". But I did not know that we could edit the text.
I had looked for: 377 "N \nW E \n S C \n B B \n AOC \n\n A"
It was not good. It was written : "N-W-E---S-C---B-B---Aoc---A"
Lowercase letters do not appear in the game.
So, I did not look at it: 386 "GIVE UP]\nPULL THE\nLEVER"
I was wrong, sorry.

Last question, please.
For 386 "GIVE UP]\nPULL THE\nLEVER" "RAS LE BOL ?\nTIRE SUR\nLE LEVIER" .
It is good. But the sign "?" (RAS LE BOL ?) does not appear as for lowercase letters. It is possible to have this sign "?"?

No problem, thank you.

I send you three files:
Translation.txt
Dungeon.dat
Graphic.dat.

You have CSBwin in French version now. Thanks to you!!
I could put download link on other sites (2 or 3), please?
I can ask other translators (Spanish, Italian and Deutsch) if they are interested in translating your files. If you want.
I thank you for your help and especially your patience. Thanks.

PS:
I did not find the files to translate for Dungeon Strikes Back.

hrvg:

I am putting together releases of the French version of Chaos Strikes Back.
The releases contain a 'readme.txt' file.
Would you like to add a line or two to the 'readme.txt' that describes
your changes and perhaps identifies you so that users might know who did
this work and could contact you with suggestions?

I played game until the end.
Everything is excellent... Except a small writing error (misspelling, "DECENDRE ==>DESCENDRE").

There is this picture at the end of game.
Skills and levels are in English.

Oh, dear. I have already started preparing the French release.
Now you have changes. I'll stop what I am doing, fix your problem
with the end-of-game screen, and wait for you to say that you
are quite done with your testing.

Christophe: Is it reasonable to publish a particular forum thread as
a 'contact' address. I am not 100 percent comfortable with that because
it seems too non-permanent and nobody is really assigned to monitor
the thread for activity.

I beg you to accept my apologies. But I received your message when I was going to write my message. I finished my french game (100%) this afternoon. Sorry.
I play English version for see the end of game. I started game. There is 1 hour.

Yes you are right. But I receive notifications. And I always answer... But one day... I could not answer anymore. I do not give my email address. I do not know how to make an email address that is not hacked by hackers.

PS:
I can translate your "readme.txt"
English text then French text. If you want.

Well if you don't want to put an email address then I guess giving the URL of this forum post so users may tell if they find an issue is good enough.
Note: You do not need to mention my name in the readme. I did not translate anything, I just provided the original texts that FTL included in the Amiga multi language version.

Now I stop checking game. If there are any mistakes... My eyes can not see these mistakes anymore.

Try version 17.3:
http://dianneandpaul.net/CSBwin/CSBwin17_3.7z

I think it fixes the endgame summary translation.

Then, after you check it out, let me know and I will restart
my release procedure. I will ship the 'readme.txt' file to be
translated (both the Windoze and linux versions).

Two questions, please.
I) Why we can not change the names?
It was good in my humble opinion.
II ) Character skills and classes are in English. (It is not important).

I)
Because I did not write the code to do that.
We could change champions names with CSBwin.exe de "CSB_Windows_x86-32_20151213.zip"

II)
Character class are French. It is good.
Skills and "HEALTH" "STAMINA" are in English.

Skills and "HEALTH" "STAMINA" are in English.
You need two different translations (one with trailing spaces) for these:

Code: Select all

Why we can not change champions names now? Before we changed champions names with CSBwin of origin: "CSB_Windows_x86-32_20151213.zip (2015-12-13)"?

It got lost in the upgrade to 32/64-bit executable.
I have tried to make it work in version 17.5.

Here is the 'readme.txt' for windows. Let me know if you want to translate it.

Code: Select all

  Possible arguements are:

  directory=<dir>     eg: directory=e:\mygame
	The directory which holds any game file. Default is the executable directory.

  dungeon = <dungeon name>    eg: dungeon = dungeon_test.dat   Default is "dungeon.dat"

  height = <screen height>
  width = <screen width>

  X = <window x position>      eg: X = 300
  Y = <window y position>      eg: Y = 0

  ; The following define the window size:
  size=humong            ; x6   1920x1200
  size=FX6               ; x6   1920x1200
  size=extremelylarge    ; x5   1600x1000
  size=FX5               ; x5   1600x1000
  size=extralarge        ; x4   1280x800
  size=verylarge         ; x3   960x600
  size=large             ; x2;  640x400
  size=small             ; x1;  320x200
  size=full FullScreen; Not really 'full-screen' but an approximation

  speed =  GLACIAL
  speed =  MOLASSES
  speed =  VERYSLOW
  speed =  SLOW
  speed =  NORMAL
  speed =  FAST
  speed =  QUICK

  Quick=<n>       eg: Quick=2000000000
	Play movie faster than light for n ticks of the clock

  VBLMultiplier=n      eg: VBLMultiplier=99
        n should be in the range of 1 to 99.
        Increases the speed of the realtime clock. Makes the game
        playback faster. If multiplier is greater than 1 and less
        than 99 then every third frame is displayed.

  Play=file         eg: Play=playfile.log
	Plays a recorded game. Might be reffered to as a "movie".
        You can interrupt the 'movie' with two consecutive Control-c.

  Repeat
        Repeats playback of movie indefinitely.

  NoRecord
	Prevents a dungeon to autorecord a session, even if the dungeon
	itself tries to force autorecord. It doesn't prevent you from
	manually selecting record. Actually, there is no reason not to
	use this switch.

  record
	Autorecord a session. Creates a new file named "record<nnn>.log

  directx ; Attempt to use DirectX for sound.

Yes, I will translate "Readme". Unless there are ten pages !!! :lol:
I copied everything in "Notepad ++" (new file, not translation.txt file)... But I do not see what I must to translate?

I found your "CSBwin17_5.7z" file this morning. I tested the game. Everything is excellent for the game only. We can not change champions names. It is not possible?
