Thank you Saumun and thank you jahmian I appreciate it. I have another question, can you kill the Xanthar at any stage of the game once you've opened the areas with the gor coins or do you need to reach a certain point in the dungeon before you can kill them?

The only xanathar I remember on the bottom level are...

several of them in a locked room. I think I was somehow teleported in there, but I can’t remember from where (possibly somewhere in the area where you get the firestaff, but I could well be wrong).

However, I think it was meant as a death trap. That said, I remember a couple of people saying that they successfully killed them all.

Sorry to keep showering you guys with questions but do any of you know how to open the chest room in the graveyard/cemetery?

Sure. You need to get something...

on the floor pad between the blue hazes. Think vertically. Is there something directly above?

The trap door? That's what you're referring to, right?

Yes. You need to get an object between the hazes. Anything will do.

It either opens it or gives access to something that opens it.

I can’t remember for sure.

I wasn't able to find a way to get any item in the hazes, but I was able to kill the xanthar by using strength potions but no luck on the treasure room as of now, sorry to ask this but do you know how to open the treasure room in the clock tower? edit:
I have to put something on the trap door then activate a lever letting said thing/object fall on the floor onto the pressure pad.

For the clock tower treasure room...

You can’t get into it until you complete the level by stopping the clock.

There is something important about when you stop the clock though...

You must stop the clock when the door leading to the treasure room is open. If you don’t, it will be closed forever, and you can never open the final treasure room because you need to enter all of the others to access the final one (unless you load an old save and do it again).
If you stop the clock at 10, then the route to the treasure room and the shop will stay open... though you have to find something else to open the inner door to the treasure room (It’s beyond the final door after stopping the clock).

Finally... you should spoiler any parts of your posts regarding solutions to puzzles, so as to not give it away to others who might play the game later.

Where is the room of the snake? It's the last part of the circle riddle I need to complete, and I don't know what the

If your characters food is in the red while you’re stood in front of the couatl (snake) picture, the riddle is solved.

I ran into an issue in 4.0.

At some point, the Rain Staff I got in the priest council transformed into a spiral staff and the option to invoke rain is gone. I found a wiki in Japanese that collects walkthroughs for custom dungeons, but nothing like this is mentioned. I know from the wiki that I need the staff to get the Oh rune and to extinguish the black flame in front of the crypt door.
I tried selling the spiral staff at the warrior's guild weapon shop, but the shopkeeper does not accept it, so it seems to me that it's still distinct from the spiral staffs the shop trades in. Is there a way to recharge the invoke rain ability? Or an alternate solution to the black flame and the Oh rune? As an extreme measure, is there a save editor for RTC? I tried searching this thread for 'rain' but no one seems to have run into this exact issue.

Hi, I've never encountered that problem during my playthroughs and seems very odd.

I do believe you need to be at least a novice priest to use the staff of rain so if you were able to grow the magic trees and destroyed them and lost your priest levels it may be due to that. If not I can't offer any other solution other then restarting from an earlier save sorry to say. If you are able to could you link the custom dungeon wiki you found?.

Now it‘s time in my life to play TOC a second time and write on my walkthrough on going. My first hint-book was written in 2018.

So hopefully it helps - at the moment i am in the boilerroom from the mage guild because it rains outside!
