How Do I kill chaos with the firestaff?

O.K. I've got the firestaff and I think I attached the gem down on level 14, well the door is now dark so I guess I have the gem also in the icon it has a flame and a litte blue gem on the top. But I've tried to use fluxcage and then invoke to kill chaos but its just not working.What exactly have I got to do with the firestaff to kill that F**ker
