CSB intro

Post by cowsmanaut »

well, I'm working on the intro now but it's not gonna be a flash animtion anymore.. I decided to go full 3D and then make an EXE with Bink. I'll post some shots of it later on maybe this weekend to let you all have a taste of it.

I'll warn in advance that it won't be exactly as it was in CSB.. infact it's going to be rather different .. more of an RTC intro than a CSB intro.

actually, in the CSB intro there is the Sar symbol on the flag. That's how I knew it was the symbol for choas' minions.

Are you going to post the original intro too for comparison?

Well Gambit is doing the orriginal himself so I imagine it wouldn't be needed. He said he captured all the images for it already.

However this is going to be fairly different from the CSB intro there is going to be scenes in it that weren't in the CSB intro so the comparison may be a moot point.

I'm going to upload the very start of the animation. It's not much to look at yet but it's the only moving part of this I've completed so far. it's also a test for those so inclined to test it for me. You should probably wait if you have a slow connection since really all it is, is a flight through the clouds with the starting credits. 30seconds worth and just over 4 megs so far. This thing even compressed will probably be 15-20 megs. for the good quality one and hopefully down to about 7megs for the lower quality one.

it's gonna be at this link as soon as I upload it.

COmbined with the stills from earlier I can see where this intro is going...it's great! The file ran fine on my machine (win98se, ati rage pro onbaord card, 128Mb RAM, latest codecs...) so all seems good

Ati Rage pro? eeek, what's that uhmm 4 megs? well that's awesome then it should run fine on most other computers. The biggest issue will be how to keep the size down.. it's looking rather large so far.. only the first 2 scenes are done and the come up at about 5 megs.. I have annother 20scenes to do.. and they will be about 1-2 megs each.. so we are looking at the high quality one (640x400 high colour) being about 25-40megs and the smaller one (320x200 256) I hope will be at least half that. 12-20megs... that's still a lot!!

will anyone here be willing to wait that long?? for a cable or DSL user no big deal.. but 56k'ers will be at it a while..

Comments anyone, anyone here with 56k willing to wait for either of these. Ok all the people with 56k modems.. will you donwload the highres version of the lowres version..

I was just joking about the ATI card.. I'm just not a fan of the rage pro.. it caused me a lot of problems. Back when I had one..

With an unmetered bt connection, (which i use alot : ) ) as long as resuming downloads is supported then I don't mind the size (downloaded 70Mb mp3s befror...man, that's long!) - so that's one vote for don't mind from a 56k'r

the reason I'm not adding this into the regular area is because it's not complete (then again neither is the horse one but hey)
