meaning of the "shell spell"

I'm sorry, but I don't know the meaning of some strange spell, which creates a small shell,that doesn't seem to be so useful.

Any ideas???

YA IR? This is a "magic marker" and can be used to mark areas of interest. They show up on some of the magic maps, so are useful in mapping areas you want to remember...
