Not that I want to complain too muc, but the list above is not straight in it's increase. After 910, 1050 the next logical step would be 1250 and then 1500. (+140/+200/+250) Could you change that, please ?

[rant] Sheesh, does it really matter? Who cares about these rankings anyway? Everybody has valuable input to make, and the number of posts someone has made doesn't make a blind bit of difference to the helpfulness/validity of their posts. In my experience, the only people who care about this are l33t twits who try to outdo each other with pointless posts to prove how 'cool' they are. [/rant]

Since I joined the Tomb Raider forums after starting my TRX project, I have discovered that a lot of people over there fall into exactly this category. Someone has a post count of over 10,000 since Feb last year -- yet most of the posts are 'Yeah, me too' or 'LOL'. It doesn't offer anything useful at all and just makes the poster look childish in my opinion.

I'm not getting at you personally PiTD -- I just don't get the fascination with it, that's all.

Not to step on Gambit's point, but congrats on Archmaster status PitD

And yes, ranks are just for fun - the current 1050 - 1300 - 1500 was my bad, I'll change it, but then again who wants a Lone Wolf inspired rank for too long on a DM board anyways?

Be interetsing to know the signal/noise ratio for this board

It's not really of any significance, I agree. So do it or leave, I mainly argued because I enjoy mathematics a lot and such things keep jumping in my eyes automatically. But that can be ignored...

Thx, I'll try to keep my "lol"-posts down ;o)

I'm sure someone asked recently, here's the thread.

Also, I tend to offer* anyone who gets Archmaster status their own custom rank if they want it...

*This offer is not legally binding, not a reward for the post count itself, and not something to pester other admins, nor moderators powerless to change ranks with.

Umm, he's right there between Lunever and PaulH.... unless you mean ranks, in which case he didn't want one.

Edit: Oh, no, he did want one in place of the normal rank, so he has one. Ian C is the only person without a specialist rank, and he can have one if he wants it!

Lol, indeed, keep posting and one of these days you can have a custom rank or just get insulted with the actual ranks :)

I guess there's no reason to keep them secret, as few people reach them, and those who do tend to have custom ranks!

Comments, suggestions, etc? And given I'm goign to scarily hit 20,000 at some point feel free to suggest ranks for that level, and I promise to wear it with pride for a while and discard my ciustom rank :)

Not that ranks are important at all, of course. Still, fun to do.

Hey beo, I couldn't help but notice that you changed your custom rank. It seems you decided not to be beo-wise, fuzz-foolish any more? :P

By default I alternate between 'Canis Altus' and 'Archmastiff', Beowise, fuzzfoolish was in reaction to a joke a while back. :)

Question:
Does a confirmed delete request count as a post, or does it have no effect on the post count?
Theory (not confirmed as truth):
It wouldn't count as a post, because it is no longer readable in the forum.

From the somewhat inquisitive,
Jay.

P. S.
Just noticed that I had 62 posts. I notice a level up sooner in DM then I do in real life! Must be the fact that the game tells me, whereas I have to check for myself in real life situations.

Another nugget from the distant past.

I can see Beo howling at the moon...probably on that "mountain" where ZYX was resting earlier? :?

I haven't had time to be involved for quite a long time, so meandering through past discussions has become a soothing past-time.

I didn't realize I had participated in this thread. Time goes by, and the memory of some of these folks causes me to smile.

Great games, great forums...and yes, some great people.

87,808 is the next level for Beo. Hard to believe that Cows had such a low count.

P.S. 20,000 posts? I figure Beo was the only person who ever actually reached that high plateau.
