RTC custom dungeons

Post by DUG »

HI,

I have recently downloaded RTC. I have also found custom dungeons for RTC:

-reactor
-chiefydungeon
-unidate

Only unidate is visible when I launch RTC (??) What about the others ?

Also,

Is there somewhere some improved graphics for RTC with the same quality as the DMjava graphics ?

thx in advance

dongeonreusement votre

unidate was released recently so will be compatible with current RTC, reactor and chiefy dungeon were for older versions, so unfortunately for the moment are only compatible with older releases (v0.24 i think)

Hopefully there will be some way to upgrade old version dungeons when the format is stabalised, which may be quite soon, who knows, but right now you may have to wait or play using an older version of the engine
just the risk of having a developing clone : (

Yes, on reflection I am inclined to agree, I think there will be a(nother) format change too. I'm looking forward to some exciting things happening to RTC soon, what with Gambit finding the unsupported "Properties" property for monsters etc. I'm hoping that soon cloning will be no more and we can simply add new stuff directly. Afterall RTC now runs DM/CSB 100% AFAIK. SO it must be time to expand. :D

i still think clonign with the ability to change anything is good for monsters etc
if you just have a blank canvas, you have to then know everything to declare, such as AI, fear, resistances, attacks, etc
People will ask for templates to recreate monsters, which is exactly what the clone thing does...gives you a nice template, then hopefully lets you alter it as much as you need

Well for now this is all simply speculation. The "built in" monsters and objects specs are in the encyclopedia, so recreating them from scratch shouldn't be a problem. I guess that new "objects" will have types, monster, clothes_body etc, which will accept what ever options are appropriate. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
