Skills and attribute associations

Post by beowuuf »

I never noticed before, but in CSBuild Wisdom is associated with Priests and Vitality is associated with Wizards - I always thought it was the other around, isn't it?

That's really weird, I also always thought that Vitality goes to priests and Wisdom to wizards... At least those stats go up with those classes more frequently. I don't think I ever gained a point of vitality when I gained a wizard level, though it certainly did happen that my priests gained wisdom - but not as much as they gained as wizards.

Yes, I wondered after when making characters, these two levels were reversed. Took me a while to figure it too. So is this the way it is, or just CSBuilds interpretation?

Dunno, that's why I asked : )

Thing is, it will be confusing either way - as the skills and attributes are matched up in the positions they are shown as in the intentory screen (if some people know them like that)

Rather far off-topic but having to do with skills and level
advancement.

Experience is rather complicated. I added a diagram to the
documentation that outlines the process of adding experience
to a champion. Start at:

dianneandpaul.net/CSBwin/documentation

and find a link to 'AdjustSkills'. You will probably find
a surprise or two.

I find people going off-topic in my threads...disturbing...

Hmm, the diagram is fine, I think my brain is tired from actually working again -

So basically fighter/ninja levels sub-skills don't get an experience penalty if there is no monster around? I thought they did too...

And sub-skills do influence your experience, but get a hefty penalty when compared to your normal skill in the calculations...or something... *head falls off*

Fighter and Ninja sub-skills get a penalty (50%) if
no monster has attacked in 25 seconds.

All basic skills get a bonus (100%) if a monster has
attcked in the last 4 or 5 seconds.

But, as noted in the text, the code that calls this
function is not simple. It also adjusts the experience
and skill numbers based on many things, in general.
And don't forget that Zyx's DSA (The Adjust Skills Filter)
will change all of this!

Huh, what filter was this? The adjust skills filter? *blinks eyes rapidly* IS this to utilise skill sets in weird ways (like re-assigning rope skill for throwing skill or something)

Hey! Lay off! I just provide the means. Zyx is the
weird one. But if you want eating worms to increase your
WarCry skills then this is a way to do it.
