I got the same idea. Well now... it's kind of possible... but it's a REALLY tough job because of:

Small viewport
No mouse support

I think DS would be a better choice there instead of GBA. But DS is harder to code than GBA

But, dungeon master existing on Super Nes and we can manipulate only with the joypad no ?
In begin i think that i could transform my snes rom of dungeon master with snesgba tools but don't work !!! I m sad !
I think it's possible to make a good game same as RTC in our small portable !!!

The SNES and the GBA use completely different processors. It's not gonna happen.

Someone would have to code something from scratch... the odds of that aren't very good, either.

You could always do it.

Well gesierfou. I've recently started GBA coding and SNES DM seems to used a support chip for better graphic functions and effects - something that GBA is lacking.

True that the joypad can be used but that method at least in my opinion is not good enough for game requiring reflexes like DM.

The porting itself would be a pain in the backside. GBA is great for platformers and jRPGs. First-person perspective dungeon crawlers are HARD to implement!

I have $100.00 in my pocket that says nobody
will ever play DM on a GBA. Any takers?

(That would pay perhaps 10 cents per hour for anyone
willing to implement it.)

What's that in real money? : )

Who knows, DM could appear on GBA - but RTC? I would imagine never

Actually Paul... there is a port of Eye Of Beholder on GBA AFAIK. But they given up live combat for a turn-based one that opens up when you approach a creature (Sort of like in old SSI GoldBox-engine games)

I remember trying to play EOB on ... what was it, SNES I think. I turned it off after 5 minutes. Consoles are no place for this kind of game. Final Fantasy design works much better on consoles.

What about the nintendo ds. that might work (with touch screen) whats teh dev kit like for them.

Dual screen means First person on top screen and inventory/spells on bottom touch screen..

That could work...

Andy

Hmmm, I've just gotten my hands on a DS, my brov is a console nutter. It's NICE. DM would work nicely on it.
