how to change the graphic mode in RTC??

HELP!!! because of my antique monitor, I have to play RTC with LOW resolution in a small window in a windows mode (like it is in CSBwin), (my monitor doesn`t accept low resolutions at all - like 640 x 480 for example - then appears some trashes etc. on the screen). Accepts ONLY 1024 x 728 / 85 hz resolution (no others). So I have to start RTC only in windows mode. The resolution of the GAME I know I can change in config.txt, but how to start it in windows mode?? help!!
oh - I can`t set in-game mode (in config.txt file) to HIGH res (like 1024 x 728, which my monitor accepts), because then the RTC runs VERY slowly (about 3-12 fps).
I mean I want to set LOW res in config file but start RTC in WINDOWS mode.

add this lines to your config.txt :

SCREEN_MODE<tab>640X400X24
FULLSCREEN<tab>NO

thanx Linfas, but it still doesn`t work! I added it to config, but if fullscreen command is set to "no", then the game starts in extremly little window with just ONE (!) graphic line, and I cant make it bigger in any way!

Double check the resolution numbers, and double check your graphics card can handle the colour setting - I know mine used to only do 16 and 32 bit, so the default 24 bit would mess up!

it still doesn`t work!
The function doesn`t work properly in XP.
On Win`98 there was a problem that I wrote about.
GG, could you fix it in v.35?
It`s very important (at least for me) to run a game in a window, like CSB (my monitor is broken and dont accept lower resolutions).

Works fine for me in XP.

What graphics card do you have? Are you 100% sure you have written the commands in the text file correctly?

The bit depth must also match your desktop settings or it won't work. So if your desktop is 1024x768x24bit colour, RTC must also use 24bit colour.
