Highlight last savegame

Post by zoom »

It would be good if there was a way
to see what the last saving slot was.

Sometimes I try several until I find
the most recent one. Or I check the
date of the file.
(or, I play conflux III atm, I check the
water elementals killed , seems they get
down the drain or something)
again it would be nice to see it on
'load recent game' screen .

is it doable without much effort?
do any other people need that?

Funny I was just thinking this 'advancement' in Civ IV that I've just started playing. For the first time I've noticed that the save game files are organised by date, in descending order. No brainer to choose the top one.

How do you envision such a thing might work?
A little extra text on the 'frame' of the menu
telling which file has the most recent date?

most recent one, green perhaps?

That makes sense. I'll see if such a thing is
feasible.

I think the painful part is going to be
opening all the possible savegames,
chacking their 'modified' dates, and
selecting the most recent one.
Not difficult....just tedious.

.. or open next to CSBwin an explorer window of your saves directory, list files by date (which is what i do for Conflux)

Yeah, can't you just put a date as part of the comment when you save? Oh hang on that's only DM2 and RTC.... :-(

Try CSBwin10_029.exe.

I labeled the saves 'A','B','C', and 'D'.
'A' is the earliest. 'D' the latest.

neat! This is very useful :)
thanks

edit: I just realised it only displays ABCD when
loading, not when saving. Could you add that
when you have some time, please? it works, but
I guess I got used to the ABCD already, and it is
a shock , to not see the ABCD's when saving!!!

Does everyone want this? It is easy to
add the labels when saving. (Actually all
I have to do is delete the "Don't Show
Labels Code".) Or I could make the whole
thing an option if other people don't like
seeing this.

That's one of the puzzles!

I don't think it will get in their way
until they figure it out.
