Prison Level / make new adventure

Post by zoom »

I have not found information on the prison feature
or make new adventure on dianneandpaul net.

How are the two savegames "roughly" distinguished
from each other? (the prison level and dungeonlv saves)

Is there a way to change the alterations made when
"converting" the savegame? = make new adventure

(I have come up with this while posting the highlighting
of savegames feature, and wondered whether there
was a way(if at all) to have the prison level saves be
grey)

anyway...

You cannot make a new adventure twice with one
savegame, how come?

has a prison level been used for any custom dungeon,
or is it unique to original CSB?

Is there a way to tell, why the guys from FTL chose
to have a prison and then make a new adventure?

.......................................................

So what does "make new adventure" do??

afaik,
Health and so on get healed,
Food&Water get maxed out.
light level/magic buffs drop to zero
party loses all items irrepairably,
and begins at a starting location somewhere else than
the prison level.

I am asking all this, because I search for an "easy" way to use
the prison as a shop, tavern, multisave reload platform or
increasing item and monster range for same party (2 in 1).

(the prison savegame would be accepted by different custom
dungeons. Probably from the same designer or a collaboration.
Theron's Quest is, if I recall, such that you chose a hero and
then entered one of 7 dungeons.. I don't know if, in the original
theron quest game, you could get back to the prison or how
it worked at all..

if there was a way to switch between the two saves,
and load a new graphics.dat in the process,
then you could make an even bigger dungeon,
basically 2 in 1 games, where you use your old party,
have a new set of monsters and items and so on..
does under circumstances, not make very much sense,
because you can already do that.

(I imagine a player could experience double the items
by deleting everything carried in mid game(makenewadventure)
and continue to the second part(csb levels) and having a readme.txt
tell them to change the graphics. dat file!!

I hope this was readable!!

This is a very interesting question. The process was quite hard for new player (and the start of the real dungeon was even harder !)
Why this over complicated (and over long: loading CSB, disk swap, save, disk swap, reset, disk swap -> utility, loading utility, disk swap, make new adventure, disk swap -> game disk, reset, loading CSB, disk swap, loading savegame, disk swap -> game disk-> dying)
