Sorry, a bit busy tidying so not tested anything - if the links don't work or whatever, give me a yell. Fles between about 600kb and 2Mb

Ahh cool you got 'em. I have no idea why the file size varies so much - they were all scanned the same way and saved in the same format. Weird. Oh well - Enjoy :).

"Dungeon Master was developed with the Idea of creating many scenarios".
Well, seems we finally got there.

Long live Dungeon Master!

BTW: Did anyone ever have access to the DCS Dungeon Construction Set mentioned?

PS: Can anyone scan me the Last Ninja article pleeeease?! :D

Sure :). I'll do it tomorrow some time and mail the scans to Wuffy again, if he doesn't mind hosting them. The "Last Ninja" article is six pages long.

Thanks a lot for scanning! And yes, I would love to read the Last Ninja bits too, I loved that game back in the day nearly as much as DM. As for the DM article, I liked it very much. Just reading it made my eyes wet from a rush of nostalgia, even though I still play so much. Best Game Ever. And reading about the supposed "many scenarios" really made me sad. Just imagine another expansion game like CSB, or even two or three of them! I would have loved to see those, and preferred such games over DM2 any day.

The second DM page is one-fourth as big as the others. That would explain the file size difference.

EDIT: Ooooops! They made a serious error on page four. The SNES version did not use the Super FX chip. It used a custom sound effects chip. Somebody better write the editor.

Yeah, I wondered about the Super FX thing. I've heard that before, but couldn't work out what it was used for. Wasn't it just a DSP processor that was the special bit?

Noo noo! DSP-3 was used. Kentaro wrote an extensive article how it was used.

Basicly it was an advanced sprite/bob manipulation chip that enabled hardware scaling, shading itp.

First Samurai was a nice game as well, but not in the same league as Last Ninja.

First Samurai was awfully cracked. At some point the game either froze or you weren't able to progress any further...

Ditto for the US!
.... Maybe we'll get it in like, 3 months. That's how it usually was with Amiga Format.
