Bugfix 2 was released. Same 3 links as before. I won't be able to fix anything until 2008.

My trip is posponed for 2 days, so I made a tiny update to fix a minor bug in the graphics.dat (you can keep the savegame from bugfix2)

Bugfix4 "wizards, come back!" is out.
Lots of internal mechanisms are different in order to prepare version 3.1. I had to test 4-5 hundreds of times several parts of the dungeon, so maybe there are a few new bugs. Let me know.

Hello all of you, playing this precious old computer game *smile* which is unbeaten by any clone ever. Thanks a lot for this conversion for windows, it's just great.

I've played Conflux IIj some years ago and was suprised and happy to see Conflux III. had to give it a try. I did some mapping the last time I was playing it, therefore I would be happy to use the ones on dungeonmaster.com but I have no passwords.

So far I've started anew for the 7th time (or something). This time I resurrected Zed and Leif and I'm eager to get at least one Guild Master, even though I have no idea how to do this. It's strange but I seem to have forgotten all the riddles I've solved the last time, the lost Wand makes me banging my head against walls. the design of this game is just unbelievable great. I'm surprised there are people still playing nowadays "crpg", when they could play Conflux, but oh well.. I was playing wizardry 7&8 for some time now and even though they are also great games, I'm alway coming back to Conflux (quite the same as with Civilization). It seems that the last time [I played it through and made one ending, but don't remember which one, something with a tower I think] there were not as many levels as there are now, when looking at the wiki page with the levels, but maybe I'm wrong with that?

well thank you for making this Zyx, that's just the best game ever made.

bugfix5 is out, it fixes the hint file, the cerberus problem, and the damn pit!
Use the new files with your savegames to fix the cerberus problem.

I've put it up for you at http://halk.lyrebird.feralhosting.com/Conflux_3.5_B5.7z

Zyx - I can't think of a reason why you would object to me putting it there, but if you do let me know and I'll remove it ASAP.

The one I've put up is the latest beta, which is Conflux 3.5 beta 5. 3.5 is quite a bit forwards from 3.0.

I get that too, I don't think it means anything for you or I. At a guess it could be because of all the stuff Zyx has going on in the background, but I really don't know. Feel free to pester me if you get stuck with something. :) Edit : But don't let that give you the impression I'm anything special at Conflux, I just happen to be playing it at the moment :)

I know conflux only with these messages, to be honest ! ;)
when you get a dungeon packed up to the upper rim, then this messages is totally ok.
The best part is, the message does not seem to make anything harmful . You can play along.

So I am not worried at all.
Already enjoying all the new sounds. Inventory management is really fresh bcs of this.
Could be, very soon that I would need some help. But I went through conflux once- not that this means anything! :)

well. It seems the excessive DSA turned out to be harmful -to my ears !

The sewer sound is played in any level and rattles on and on. Sometimes it is gone but it comes back again.
very annoying.
But this game is so addictive that I even tolerate this. But it would be nice if there was not that flood sound over and over again.
Tried quitting the game and re-loading. to no avail. Actually right at entering the savegame it gives me the excessive dsa warning.
coudl send the savegame, but zyx, you are aware of this excessiveness, aren´t you?(bugfix has 2 problems is stated somewhere)

He has said elsewhere that he's going to be changing the way the sewers worked. I do agree about the sewer noise now you mention it... it's particularly loud, the ambient noises are a worthwhile addition but in order to have the volume loud enough to hear vital pressure pad/wall clicks the ambient noises can be somewhat intrusive.

Sorry,
There seems to be something broken with the savegame indices(A B C D)
They are supposed to show which one of the csbgamex.dat is the latest (A supposedly). Also there is only A and no other (B C D missing)
I really think, savegame4 is the latest in my case, but I tend to forget such things quickly.Could also be number1..
see,I am confused right now..
For now, It does not matter, since it is early in the game but later on, I want to rely on the (ABCD) stuff to show me.

Screenshot:
then I do not know, whether to look at .bak or .dat? Comparing Dates of files, number 2(=csbgame2) does not qualify at all for A-tag!!
(neither csbgame2.bak nor csbgame2.dat)

CSBwin11_056 fixes this. At least makes it better!
Sometimes I wonder if anything really works right.

You should ask Zyx if he will release this version
for Conflux.

By the way....from your directory listing, CSBGAME2.DAT
should have been 'A'. It is the earliest of the .DAT files.
21:17 versus 21:18, 21:19, and 21:21.

after this, end of off -topic, promise! ;)
thanks Paul.
sent an email to zyx.
Quatermass, if you maybe like to, you can refresh your preliminary confluxIII-the Undercity -download-link

ok, so only .DAT is relevant. maybe I could even delete the .bak´s?

as for the numbering: I thought it to be the other way around: A being first choice or so., not D.
But I will learn to do it this way! It really does not matter, in fact it is really the same.

The first one you wrote is 'A'
The second one is 'B'
The third 'C'
then 'D'

We had to do it one way or the other. This was the
easiest to explain ;-)

I got confused with the save games, until I realised how it worked. Then i realised they were very clever indeed! You can do all sorts of things with 4 savegames if they are timestamped that way.

I did notice in the version of Conflux I'm using just now, the beta5 of 3.5 that only A shows. Pleased to hear it's getting fixed.

When you say refresh my download link, do you mean repackage it to include Paul Steven's new CSBWin with the bugfix? I'm not likely to do that, I'd rather leave it so that everybody is using the same CSBWin with the same version of Conflux. I'll quite happily host any and all related files - I have a 100mbit unlimited bandwidth server, but I'm hardly qualified to decide what goes in Conflux and what doesn't :)
