A BIG Thank you

Post by Meikle »

I would just like to say - I stumbled on this site after searching for ages to find a DM substitute or emulator etc.

I used to play DM all them years ago and I would just like to say a HUGE thankyou for making this version. I can now play DM till my heart is content and I think it is a spot on job.

thanks again

thank you

I'd like to second the previous message's thank you. Because of you George, I too can play endlessly and easily to my heart's content. One thing I'm really craving is new dungeons... I know only one has been created (reactor) by Sophia, but do you think that you would ever have time for such an undertaking? Afterall, I think you're really close to having a final working version of RTC =)

Where can I get this map from? and or how can i make my own? I would love to be able to give something back for this superb game.

I third that, Thanks for such a great version of this classic game. I love the addition of the spell book, it is making the game so much more challenging to play :) Good work mate.

Map: http://dmweb.free.fr/Forum , in the dungeons forum

Editing: you can see example dungeons in the Modules/Examples folder, you create a text file like this then enter the line

Compile path/dungeon.txt

It's covered in the readme file, and you can experiment from there
Was unable to (permenantly) kill off ian_scho (Haynuus), Ameena, oh_brother (Westian), money (Falkor), raixel (Petal) and Lord_Bones (Aurek) in the DM D&D game Time's Champions!

hehe AndyBoy, fancy seeing you on here ! Thanks for passing me that DM folder, I certainly enjoyed it my friend and by the looks of it so did you eh ?

I have been coding a new dungeon, 9 levels down so far - obviously not quite up to George's standard, but even so I'm pretty happy with it

the notepad method of level editing is a CYNCH for blitzcoders like us Andy

you should try it

start with examination of George's "the Orange" in \Examples
by looking at this you can see how DM can be coded in notepad
George I add my thanks here, top work m8

The Chief

Post by andyboy_uk »

Hey Chief, np with the CD, glad you enjoyed it. I actually have a grid style map editor in blitz basic that (Im sure) could be adapted to work with RTC files, I will have to have alook at the format of the data files.

At the moment though I am stuck in KU on CSB with that bloody long corridor and the DETH KNIGHTS that follow you up there.

Git things

Back to the hack & Slash :)

Later

Andy

When the Deth Knights have cornered you, a wall will open in your back so you can escape..

Make sure you are facing the Knights or the wall won't open...I just run to the dead end, turn round, and keep trying to walk backwards till I stop bashing my brains out, then turn and leg it...Dragon Den, woohoo :)

As ameena says, its a directional thing - you could just run and open it yourself, but it is better to use up the space fighting the knights first rather than let them gain those tiles without injury : )

I don't know for sure but I think it is a monster triggered floorpad that will open the wall. If you want to know precisely use DMute upon the CSB mini.dat from CSBWin.
