Theron's Quest

Post by Daniel Gustafsson »

I bought Theron's Quest last year to add to my collection. I know have originals of Dungeon Master PC, Chaos Strikes Back for Atari ST, Dungeon Master 2 for PC and Theron's Quest for TurboGrafx/PC-Engine. :)

Theron's Quest runs with at least two of the emulators I have tested. I am thinking about making an ISO copy available somewhere. Looking for alternatives...

I should be getting my Japanese version soon of Theron's Quest. Not sure if it will run on the emulator or not, but we'll see.

I now have 6 versions of Dungeon Master, 7 of Dungeon Master 2. All the information regarding this will be going on to my DM site which will appear later in the year. Don't worry - it's not another site like the Encyclopedia - it will be something very different indeed. I hope to have a complete list of all the DM versions ever made, and photo's descriptions of them all.

Does you PC version have the sound adapter? Mine does!

Dungeon Master 2 versions

Post by Gambit37 »

Actually, I have 6 copies of DM2, not 7:

DM2 for PC (USA version, original metallic packaging)
DM2 for PC (USA version, re-released yellow packaging)
DM2 for PC (European, yellow packaging)
DM2 for Amiga (European, yellow packaging)
DM2 for Mega CD (USA, double height box)
DM2 for Mega CD (Eurpoean, double depth box)

There are more which I am in the process of obtaining, particularly Mac versions.

Daniel, which emulators did you get Theron's Quest to work on? I've tried it on the latest version of Hugo and Magic Engine, and neither of them work.

I have Windows 98, an old AMD 233 with 96MB ram abd a Matrox Millenium 2 graphics card. Any ideas?

Gambit, I got Theron's Quest working with MagicEngine.
<a href="http://www.magicengine.com">www.magicengine.com</a>

and I also with Hu6280, <a href="http://www.hu6280.com,">www.hu6280.com,</a>
but it looks like that site is not running at the moment.

What happens when you try to run ?

Good to have you back Daniel!

I can hear the CD spinning up in the drive when I use magic Engine, but then nothing.... it just goes to a blank screen and/or crashes my computer.

I've tried both the Japanese and US versions and they both do the same thing. Any ideas how I can get it running?

It was almost a year since I tried to get it running.
I will try again this week. I only have the US version.
