Projectile dammage

Post by +Fredrik Olsson »

Do anyone know the actual dammage inflicted by projectile weapons such as bows, slings and crossbow. Using teleporters to shoot yourself gives only five to ten damage points and makes the projectile weapons seam useless when compared to axes and fireballs.

Using dmute, you could know exactly the damage done to a monster. Note that maybe monsters are more vulnerable to projectiles. I remember killing easily knights with flying chests...

I reply to myself.

Four champions all craftman and 50 in all attributes, no items carried alone from the weapons used and no spells used. Shoot 10 times each at Screamers two steps away on the other side of a pit.

Here are the results (eg aprox dammage for 40 shots): Bow/Arrow: 36 Bow/Slayer: 54 Speedbow/Arror: 117 Speedbow/Slayer: 131

The variations up and dow is aproximated to 1/3 of the dammage shown above.

So projectile weapons are usefull after all ;-)
