I hated assignments. Tutors didn't seem to realise that they got in the way of more important things. I used do do mine in the college bars!

I wish I could do them in the Union but programming in assembler and drinking does not mix. Oh no it doesn't

I remember once when me and a few mates sneaked 24 bottles of Stella into a lecture theatre! There were about 80 people in there, and every few minutes there was a 'pssssst' as a bottle was opened. Made the lecture on relativity go a lot quicker...

You see, that's what I'm missing out on! I do a computer course with about 30 or so people (and half of them don't turn up at the best of times), so we can't get away with stuff like that. :(

It'll be worth it at the end, believe me. There is a lot you can do nowadays with computer quals. Physics was fun though. Getting to play with liquid nitrogen, lasers, radioactive seaweed and things that caught fire was great!

Freshly shipped in from the coasts of Sellafield. One sample contained 400 times normal background radiation levels. Technetium 99 - seaweeds favourite food.

It was amazing. We found traces of stuff everywhere: Cs137 in the dust on the floor - fallout from Chernobyl. Radioactive K in coffee and salt. Paradoxically the largest source of background radiation was from the lead 'castles' that surrounded the gamma detectors. Light from the fluorescent lighting would release X-rays from the lead!!! It was an interesting place to work. I had access to the keys to the 'sources' room that we used to calibrate the detectors. This was a room with 1ft thick concrete walls that contained all manner of radioactive materials in lead containers.

Dear me, do you glow in the dark lol? I would have loved to do Physics or Astrophysics but I'm just too lazy where maths is concerned. Proberbally shouldn't be doing a course in programming then...

I just about glow, I have had more than my fair share of radiation. I have had one of these scans at hospital where I was injected with radioactive Iodine... I had to carry a big orange sign with me, was not allowed within 6 ft of anyone and had to flush the toilet twice!

The maths is a pain. We had to do some programming too. In Fortran 77.

Its the radon I'd be worried about. Don't go in the cellar!

You can buy radioactive marbles on ebay, which contain small amounts of uranium.

The secret to eternal youth is a combination of radiation and alcohol. The radiation diddles with your DNA and makes the cells last three times as long, while alcohol preserves your brain and organs.

Playing Conflux has quite the opposite effect.

Its the same in Derbyshire and Cornwall. Where there's granite, there's expensive property. Could buy a house in Sellafiled. They are quite cheap...

Does that come with free concrete lining or is that extra, like those brass cupboard handles?

"Male golden hamsters preferentially consume alcohol solution when given a free-choice between water and the alcohol solution"

This is the bizarre line I found when searching for information on insomnia.
