Beowuuf's brilliant bargins

Post by beowuuf »

Actually, not at all, just away to start selling a few things on e-bay from my childhood days, namely a) my Epic 40k army, b) Space Crusade board game, c) fourth edition M:tG card sets, d) D&D rulebooks and e) a Myth series based boardgame

Since Gambit's done it already, I don't feel so whorish about posting the links here. : )

Edit: I have a clean room and no more stuff to sell : )

Weird -- did you put up auctions for all the items you listed? There's nothing on offer if I click "View seller's other auctions"

Incidentally, I'd add some better keywords into your subject line and body text for the Ork stuff, such as "Warhammer", "Games Workshop" etc... you need to make it much easier for people to find it.

you sell magic cards? are some goodies amongst them? it's far better to make small packages with 1 good card as lure (dual-land, wheel of fortune, balance, ...) a nice uncommon (sol ring, demonic tutor) and some crap.
i keep mine, even my alpha timetwister which has more worth than anything other i possess^^

eh, there was one guy that was going for the complete fourth edition set, so a few of the fantastic ones i traded for alot of lesser ones at the time...

Given the age of the cards and the fact there are no stand out ones, i think i will just sell them as a lot and see what i can get : ) Yopur way could probably net more money, but i just want the damn things gone and it seems hard to sell them to specialist places!
I need to go throguh the rare/uncommon list wit hthe cards infront of me and see what i can highlight

You've got some nice bids on there on the WH40K stuff already -- cool! I don't hold out much hop of you selling the D&D rulebooks though -- these are ten a penny on eBay :(

oh, seems to be that MtG was sold before 4th in britain - in germany, there was a "german 4th" edition, including revised-cards, meaning duals and stuff, meaning worthy ;)
if you have some icy manipulators, edit them in - might be uncommon, but was reprinted not long ago and rocks very much ;)
might not get an offer, there's missing a hot card to get attention.

there are some sweet ones there, but really i'm relying on people knowing them...eh, its a ten day auction for that, i may go through and highlight some of the cooler ones at the weekend

i actually got a few good ones or multiples of the good rares but alas, traded away...multiple reverse damages!

Hey I also have a big MTG collection to get rid of... 4th Edition, Revised, The Dark, Fallen Empires, COMPLETE Chronicles collection and a few Ice Age (including Icy Manipulator).

Just like Beo I'd like to get rid of the whole set in one go. Think it might be possible Sucinum ? Interested in seeing the list ?

Stick it on e-bay at least with a very high reserve price to see what you can get : )

I made some searches and watched a few auctions and it didn't look like they were selling really high... I'll watch yours and see what happens ;)

depends what you term high...the ones i lookd around at were hitting between 40 - 80, but that could be a busy period, and besides, that not really high when you think of the money you pump in i guess : )

the trouble is that actual conventuion players, etc can buy the individual cards in specialist auctions really cheaply, or get new ones on sites...*sigh* so really its just goign to be normal players going 'ooh' and the cards
ah well

LOL, it's all good, I think the guy who's been watching it has pounced at the last second. Snce I put an openign bid at what I would be happy with, then I'm happy to let it go to someone who wants it rather than dump it into a charity shop : )

I have this weird guilt though, I just sold my epic army for probably a very respectable fraction of what it cost me to buy new. I feel like I have to at least sent it in a gold box by the fastest stallion in the land now : )

Wootty woot -- you did well on the Ork Army and Space Crusade -- how does that compare to buying them new? And don't feel guilty -- the whole point of eBay is to make money dammit!

How did you get the postage price? If it's a guess, you might find it's signifcantly more expensive than you think....especially for lead figures :-(

I will use the phrase 'respectable fraction' and try not to let my dark fuzzy side start rubbing himself all over with money while running around on the floor screaming 'great fuzzy wootwuzzles' and 'all for Wuufy, all for Wuufy'.

I got the postage price by a combination of weighing the stuff myself then checking out the post office website/asking at the local branch. If it was a lower cost auction (like if I had got my original bid price only) I might have been worried about postage, but really I'm not worried if I have underestaimated the postage now! It will be a costless learning experience : (

HEY! You can't hijack my thread...I could still get money for the crappy game dammit...all for Wuufy, all for Wuufy!

Funnily Gambit, right when I was thinking of putting stuff up I asked around about postage to a few people, including 'sending' you a pm...I think I did the 'write it but forget to click send and instead click 'dm.com forums' link' thing. Totally forgot I did that til now! : )

Everyone else just buys though and couldn't advise me, except for one friend who just said to check what anyone else had up as their costs!

One thing that bugs me is postage costs that are too high. If you have a heavy item, just stick a nominal amount as p+p (ie 4.99). You will get more bids.
