Fetching from monsters (CSBwin)

Can you fetch the ID of an object from a monster? I tried using the -(1000*ID) and it complained : (

Oops, that's it - still learning the language...I'd just discovered &chposs while scannign through help, forgot seeing the monster counterpart!
