Conflux on PocketPC

Post by Paul Stevens »

I received an email from a person playing Conflux
(Version J????) on the PocketPC. Wow. But there
are a lot of hints in the game that are displayed in the
scrolling text area and they are hidden by the movement
arrows.

I released CSBwinCE2002-201a.exe.
It overwrites the arrows when the text changes and
limits text to 40 columns so that all the text can be
visible. If anyone else is playing Conflux on the PPC
then you might like to update your executable.

The newer Conflux versions have no hope of running on
the PPC. When we reach some sort of stable release
then I will have to spend a month or so porting all the
new features to the PPC. Yuk.

Somehow that´s reminding me of sisyphus.

some guy of greek myth who was sentenced to do work
in the underworld. His task was to push a giant boulder
up a hill. when he had reached the top, the boulder would
roll down and he had to begin anew. Infinitely.
Yet he didn´t went crazy.
He was happy! In an absurd kind of way.
having to do with mastering one´s fate and hopelessness

There is in development a 'k' version. Unfortunately it is using (well, creating) alot of new functions in the newest CSBwin engine. So Paul will need to convert that current engine into the PCC version before you could play version k - don't worry, it hasn't been released yet. But that is because, for example, zyx is skinning the dungeon (more wall sets)

And lol, the added complication of surviving xonflux while some stranger thumps your ear withhis elbow? Interesting, Sera could use that to make the game more difficult...

Apul? I sure hope that this is not some shopkeeper from India who sells "almost up-to-date Conflux version" in his Kwik-E-Mart...

He doesn't even sell that, he sells 'Xonflux' - almost like conflux, except much cheaper and the couatyl teeth fall out when they bite you

Cool ! You kill a Couatl and it drops....Couatl's teeth ! They can be thrown like poison darts, but they can be used only once. :D

May as well have a DSA consume the 'teeth' when you do the throw option and create a poison bolt spell then : )
