updates to characters
it's always inevitable.. I want to update some of these images of the players now that I can paint a little better than I could in the past..
those of you using these images can of course have say if you want to keep the version you have or move to the updated ones.
Froud you are up first.. as that image you are using is one of my least favorite from the group now.. it's so ancient and his neck seems broken.. this new one to me seems to be better...
what do you think?

this is photoshop.. The only thing I use for my paintings.. I could use painter. However, I've just not gotten used to it. It also is not commonly used in the industry I work in. So .. it's easier for me to stick to Photoshop, depsite Painter is a better program for this kind of stuff.

woho ! excellent work, especially colors and light, but zed is too damn handsome i thought he was older, maybe because of his moustache and his title !
here's a sketch of him i made a few months ago : http://redribbon.planet-d.net/dm/zed.jpg

Might I suggest a warm background for Chaos? The cold colors accentuate his red eyes quite nicely, but when I think of Chaos, I think demonic, and that brings to mind fiery doom. You could try it and compare.
Otherwise, those headshots look really sweet. Perhaps a graphical update to DMJava is in order.

had already tried a warm.. doesn't work.. in fact the first go at it the background was warm and when I went cold it just seemed to work better.. besides the fact that Chaos is shrouded in a dark fog.. he is blackness.. cold.. so really fire doesn't embody him really..
If I did it warm I need to make his reflections different warming him more.. this way I was able to add a bit of subtle warm into his right side of his helmet moving from cool blue to a slightly warm green. Green is still a cold colour but when you add a bit of yellow to it, it becomes more of a warm colour. If you colour pick the areas on the right side you will see.
forever going over and over this stuff in my head as I go. for me I'm finding that if a do warm on one side and colder on the other as with these two new shots.. it looks more dynamic..
I dunno.. everyone has their prefrences though.. and their own interpretations

I would think coldness would suit Order more than Chaos - I mean, the cold harshness of everything being in order and perfect, versus the raging chaos of total anarchic mayhem. Or something.
