[Not a bug] Walking through railings?

Post by Daecon »

I'm not sure if this is a real bug or not, but should you really be able to walk through railings?

Surely it defeats the purpose of having them if they don't keep intruders (characters/monsters) out?

Admitedly it can be worked around by including one-step-back teleporters on the same tile, so it's not that big a deal. Of course it would only be in one direction, so you can't distinguish between what should be on one side of the fence to the other...

No, it's not a bug - the railing graphics are positioned at the edge of the tile, so it can't be blocked.

As you say, the "problem" can be worked around with teleporters, or of course, as in the DMII demo, by placing them next to walls (which may or may not look like walls!).
