Scary stuff!

I just had a quick look back at some of the old stories we've created on here, especially the gamebook one. It's easy to forget all the effort we've put in to these things, but I'm glad we did: we're a clever, creative funny bunch and we should all give ourselves more credit for being awesome :-)

Update: There is some bloody funny stuff in the interactive story! :D

Well I was answereing you post up above regarding the CYOA story, not noticing you'd started a new thread about it as well.

How about we switch to a complete sentence each instead? I think it gives a bit more humanity and story to what is so far just a nonsensical string of words. :P

I'd suggest staying with a word a piece for a little while longer, since everyone seems to be getting in to the flow of it. A word is easy and fun to do, a sentence is a little more complex and might thin down contributers again.

We can always swap to sentences running up to an end once we hit the christmas/new year slow down?

Cool, no problem, I think I got a little enthused for stories again when I re-read over some of the old ones we made :)

I think once we've got a ton of random craziness then having sentences to start calling it back in to a weird end would be fun though.

And then we number that section 1, and start the process of a centries' long gamebook construction :D

how about going somewhere in between? I have a similar thread going in another forum where it's 3 words and that seems to work well there, so why not here?

I will be swayed by the crowd, but while it can sometimes be annoying you can't steer some sense in to the story, it's also fun in a way :)

Trust me, 3 words still leaves plenty of room for nonsense without being as limiting as one word, so you can still get some very unpredictable results but also have room to write multi-word names like gambit's "Lord Chaos" post

Note that the current sentence is being spoken by someone... it doesn't currently read right, please fix on next few words.

that happens sometimes, beo and I also had a double post that worked out as it was a few days ago.

btw what happened to beowuuf? he seems to have been replaced by a double -- beo clause, perhaps? :P
well, on a more Serious note, I like the Christmas themed avatars some of the members have been able to put together. Image

Well, I guess the forum members should be warned, beo clause is coming to town and knows who's been naughty or nice, soooooo... you know how the rest of it goes...

Well, it's easier just to assume everyone's been naughty and ban accordingly. I've got a huge candy cane to eat, apparently, who's got the time for lists!

that's not very nice... :(

Great, now I have to ban myself too? *ugh* that's even more work. Maybe I'll just say everyone's been nice then, that seems like the least effort :)

And I'm pleased to say we now have a story hook: forthcoming horrors to be bestowed on Hawk! :-)

Although I've made relatively few posts in the thread, I feel like I've made a gigantic contribution to this story.
