Ok, I did ruby first.

I'm playing solo with Lippo reincarnated
(with some stupid gay-elfish first name)

The game seems less challenging than first time (with the dwarf ressurected, and other characters along the game)

I'm quite close to the final boss right now.

I think I missed a couple of secrets, as I didn't open any skeleton lock, and can't find my way up as I did the first time.

Anyway, The Executioner absolutely pawns anything in the game.

I like it !

Actually, I think I did Ruby so fast, that I didn't get a skill level through it.

And I didn't even get the Executioner back then, I just had the Diamond Edge. Makes me think I gotta go do some diamond picking...

Sukumvit, très vite.

I thought I'd try this dungeon again as I never finished it before and haven't played any DM for ages!

I'm playing under 0.49 but the sound cuts out after a while. I guess this is a bug in RTC. What's the correct version of RTC to play Sukumvit under?

i think it was for v0.47 or something... can't remember :)

I'm stuck in Sukumvit 2d... :(
I've found 2 corbs, 2 dragon armor pieces, I can't find the square key that opens the door in the 3rd guardian's chamber (the one with the hellhounds) and on top of ALL that, I can get passed the munchers, but everytime I go to step onto the fireball plate, I get teleported back down the stairs :(

Any help would be much appreciated.

BTW: Linflas, I rather liked the FUL rune... And the "non-solid" door near the start... I've been making my own dungeon, and that's pretty damn sneaky...

all those are connected, first find the 3rd missing armor piece.

I understand that... That's what my main aim is :(
I've got the body and the legs, I just can't find the feet, and there are pits or doors blocking my paths all over the place.

I've got the saphire & diamond, I just can't find the ruby. I can't progress until I do.

Yeah, finished it, again !

Ok, my review is still accurate : Great dungeon, great design, great monsters. It's an 9/10, and it's replayable at least twice ;)

I take it that no-one can help me with my ruby finding issues? I can't find the actual item, not the place.

Thanx in advance to all those who help. :D

Perhaps pm linflas directly?

I have tried that, before I posted here. I got help from him about the dragon armor, but not about the ruby.

the ruby is carried by one of the

armoury guards
.
sorry for late reply !

Thanx, Linflas. I'd already killed it, I'd just forgotten to check its "corpse".

I've finished it now: 103km, with my best fighter having nearly 500,000 earth points, 2nd best having 250,000.

Thanx for the tips where required. Navigation was a total <insert 10 minute profanity rant here>, other than that, I loved this dungeon, it was very well thought out.

i'm glad to read that you got crazy crawling in the labyrinth ;)
i got your pm and will send you my source file when i get an internet access at my home ! it should be very soon, i hope so..

OT : hmmm... i just realised that i put too many gold rings in the munchers room... damn too easy ..

Posted: Mon Jan 19, 2009 3:27 pm
by Lord_BoNes
I had 6 spare rings at the end.
I also had a fair crap-load of spare food & water, even with a full party of 4. I was doing 100-500 damage with the executioner & voraxe (both fighters with STR 255).
I could tank nearly any monster :D

I killed chaos in about 10 seconds, those doors made it far too easy, I just put cages in the door ways then moved from one to the other pinning him in, then.... 1 dead chaos.

As I stated above, the only downside to Sukumvit was the navigational side of things. It can become near on impossible to find somewhere you've been before, it took me over an hour to find the armoury after getting the winged key.

But, all-in-all, I rate this dungeon a 10/10. The shear intricacy of the mechanics make some of my stuff look like child's play.
EG: that fake door, so simple to do, yet so sneaky that you don't think of it for a while (I tried playing with the switches, for a bit).

I can't get anywhere in this game. No light and no spells = no fun.

I'm just running around the first few rooms with useless champions and nothing to do, then it gets dark and I'm screwed. I think in my old age I've forgotten how to play DM games.... ;-) Help!

Giant hint: Start over and use Lippo. He is the "easy" character because he has a VERY useful special ability...

I was using Lippo already. Don't know how I missed his special ability!

That's much better, getting a lot further now I can see! I'm trying to map, but haven't found a compass. Is there one?
