... can't be made visible with activate action the same way alcoves and other wallitems can be.

That's correct, and entirely intentional (well, the toggling bit anyway, it probably shouldn't come away in your hand!).
What you can do however to achieve the same effect is place another (non switch) object over the top of it and toggle that's invisibility. There are several switches in the DM-II dungeon that are like this.

Hi, i have a similar problem.
I want transform an Invisible switch in a Visible switch by a trigger operated by monsters with the constant weight.
I've searched in the DMII Dungeon but i didn't find the exemples :\
All the standard switch are Visible and don't become Invisible by a trigger or relay.
Maybe it's my fault and i don't understand clearly what i need to search -_-
(almost sure it is)
Can anyone please tell me the coords of this Switches on the DMII Dung., so i can copy that? (I don't need every switches of this type, just a couple)
Thankyou very much
P.S.: I tried to follow the hint of GG:
I know, too idiot question, but i really can't reach the solution

But i don't understand if you mean Cover the switch with another wallitem or if the switch visibility it's bounded (i don't know how) with the visibility of the other NonSwitch wallitem? What you can do however to achieve the same effect is place another (non switch) object over the top of it and toggle that's invisibility.
