the video stopped and loaded too many times to get any good feel from it.. at least for me it did. Looks interesting.. I do remember playing it for Amiga. Though can't really say I was overly excited by the game, just fun for a short time, then I'd play something else.

Ah Speedball 2, one of the games I was addicted to as a kid. I was unbeaten in my school tournaments at this game.

Still play this today (a500 still works fine)

Lol, when I saw the thread's title I immedeately thought "Speedball 2", even after all that time.

I can't believe I'm going to admit this, even as an ex-Amiga owner, but I have never played Speedball 1 or 2!

That trailer looks sweet though, very funny!

I'm curious - what does "Ice cream! Ice cream!" have to do with Speedball 2? We have it on our Atari (though I've not been on it for over a year now, I think) and it's one of the few sporty games I've ever enjoyed...dunno why, it's just fun :D.

Well, probably the Atari version does not offer the sound effects of the Amiga one? ;-)

Ameena, the thing about ice cream ice cream is this;
whenever a player got injured, effectively leaves the match for good
and he gets transported out on a stretcher, a voice is shouting ice cream
ice cream to the audience.into play then comes a much weaker substitute..

It kind of epitomises the spirit of the game , like , it does not matter
much when so is injured it is even wanted to happen..

btw, played that game on the amiga.
Brutal Deluxe was your team,
cool names of opposing teams, like mean machine ..
what where those other teams called again.?
Well..was definitely better than speedball 1*too hard* and
I really wonder whether the remake will be good or not.

yeah, team names where great : fatal justice, turbo hammers, explosive lords, steel fury, violent desire, ... and super nashwan, the strongest one. this name was also used for an item you could buy in xenon 2 : the super nashwan power brought a very powerful equipment to your ship for a few seconds.

Revolver was the crappiest team, then the Raw Messiahs...Steel Fury was the toughest in the low division...ahh, fun game :D. I liked buying a good player as my Centre-Forward and using him to grab the ball and run around and score a ton of goals before the opponent's team could even touch me...then let them get the ball so I could beat them up to get it back :D.

Ohh was that it...I know they were one of the toughest teams anyway...hmm so how many names can I remember...
Brutal Deluxe (obviously), Revolver, Raw Messiahs, Baroque, Damocles, The Renegades, Steel Fury, Violent Desire, umm...and then the tougher teams included Rage 2000, Lethal Formula, Turbo Hammers, Super Nashwan, and umm...whoever else has already been mentioned here. And some more.
Oh well, fun game anyway - I liked beating up the other players and getting the free 10 points for doing so. Wonder what my highest ever score was...bet it was against Revolver, anyway .

"That's gotta be a Speedball 2 post!" is just what I said to myself when I saw the title. Didn't watch this trail, but I've seen others. Let's see what happens, after all SB2 in 3D has already evaporated once already.

Hoho! They've just released the original Amiga version of SB2 on Xbox Live Arcade. I bought it and whilst it has the original Amiga graphics, there's some wierd 'High Definition' 3D graphics that you can use. I can't get used to the 3D look (even though it's still top-down) and I can't even begin to wonder how different this 'remake' is going to be...
