Nice work really ! I've created an account to contribute potentially : i'd like to write an "RTC editing for noobs" part or something similar. And maybe some graphics advices.

I put together a topic list for RTC editing on the old site, which has been copied across. You could use that as a start... :)

Is it possible to update the link to the wiki in the first post of the topic ? Or am I just looking in the wrong topic ?

I also updated the link in the quick links drop down list.

Call all those whom are strong in the ways of the DSA!

I have put up some questions here:

Zoom, thanks for the link. I had checked these out before putting my questions up the on WIKI. Most of my questions have been answered BTW.

For 13 years AOL has been my IP. The last couple of years just to have that old account/email though. It gave me a nostalgic feeling to hear that "Sie haben Post" ("you got new mail") once in a while and also there has been a nice feature called "myPlace" which made it very easy to upload and organize files.

That place has been deleted by AOL without warning and without any chance to recover the files that I gathered along those 13 years. Various How-Tos, instructions and pages, mostly about maintaining Chevy Blazers but also nice photo stories and many personal pictures are gone forever. It feels a bit like a part of my existence has been deleted. I've spoken to AOL and they claim to have informed me via email about the general shutdown of members.aol.com. I never received anything.

This also touches the few things I've added to the wiki. Pictures mostly, but also some files. I need to find a new place to fix this, but fear it may well take until the end of the year.

That sucks, I do feel for you. It's horrible to lose all that stuff, especially after so long. That said, it's good advice not to put anything online that you don't have copies of elsewhere.

Lesson learned: keep everything on backups!

When talking about backups:

Lesson two (although the context is different): keep the backups as far away from the originals as possible (since a fire consumes not only the computer, but also all the CDs around... believe me)

DM wiki is not up to date concerning csbwin´s editing part

I would like to mention ADGE for windows Vista support,
the dm wiki does not include it.

the whole How to edit page is not satisfying(e.g. alt monster graphics is incomplete)
this has to be remedied.

Furthermore I would like to collect more information.

Procedures of how to change custom graphics and what to consider(width height color)
(monsters or "add-ons for walls(forgot correct name))
ADGE Vista does a great job there
you can change them on the fly I think, have not really tested it.
I do only have MAC OS with no way to emulate windows and linux :/

I would like to make an creature/wallgraphic step by step online and how to get it in game.
Change it as alternate monster graphic

(in the future maybe a video of csbuild etc.with a magnifier tool to see where you click on. )

should there be a whole extracted graphics.dat online ? you could backup it there and so on. or would that extremely infringe copyright?
Last but not least: who do I have to pm to get an account? I would like one

Look at the upper right hand corner of a page -- "create account". At least that's what I did when I throw up some DMJ related stuff.

The last edits in the wiki are some kind of spam.

If the spam is the blue box with "foo" on a line and "a a b" on the second, that was actually me mucking around (thinking about formatting if I get motivated and put the DSA ref stuff I started on the wiki).

The maps don't work under firefox, any idea of the reason ?

EDIT: I'm using Chrome to view them, but there are still bugs, especially when I try to edit the maps.

Shouldn`t link to wiki be on the main site ( www.dungeon-master.com )? I often has problems with finding it on a forums.

@Adamo: Sorry to be the one to point this out... there's a link to the Wiki in the "Quick-Links" dropdown box (where it says "Please select a website to jump to"). You can access that box from ANY page on DM.COM... LOL :P

Adamo is talking about the non-forum homepage: http://www.dungeon-master.com/ -- there's no link to the Wki on there.

Well, he did say he was having problems finding it on the forums, hence askign for it on the front page.

Sorry, Adamo :( My bad.
If that's the case, then I'd second the notion... even though I never see that page :P

No problem Lord_Bones, I have a firefox, so I always used the "main" site for the links when I wanted to find something quickly.

I use Opera (same tabbed browsing)... but, I can't understand why you'd have it open at the main page instead of the forums page. I always keep a tab open on the forums, so I never even need to visit the main page :P
